Last weekend, we gathered for the closing event of In the Pale Light of a Shadow, an exhibition by Oisín Tozer (@otozer.va). We were delighted to be joined by Méadhbh Carey (@woolwaulking), who performed Little Silver Cords, bringing a beautiful and atmospheric close to the exhibition. Thank you to everyone who visited, supported, and joined us throughout the exhibition. so excited to share that next week @ballinaartscentre i’ll be presenting a sonic response to the current installation on view, “in the pale light of a shadow” by oisín tozer (@otozer.va). named for a line in w.b. yeats’ poem “the fish,” little silver cords places field recordings from salmon weirs on the river moy just outside the gallery space alongside live improvisation on bass clarinet, modulated and manipulated in real time by the physical movement of guests and natural variations of light throughout the space. free and all are welcome! 2pm, saturday 26th of september in ballina, co. mayo. hope to see you there mo chairde ꩜ by @woolwaulking

spring majorly sprung in dublin today so here’s a light airy aran for ur viewing pleasure 🧶: wool spun myself(!!) at a workshop at kerry woolen mills in killarney; single ply unfortch but held with @yarncitizen trinity in walnut (alpaca/cashmere/mulberry silk) semi self drafted — the cable pattern is for a shawl, but halfway into working what is now the back panel I pivoted and decided to go for a sweater. so with the exception of the collar & bits of the front yoke this is entirely comprised of flat panels knit and serged together! might write up the pattern in the round and try to publish at some point…. much to think about………. by @woolwaulking
airy mohair vest 💌 loosely drew from ozetta (lakes v neck) & loopy mango (summer v neck tank) patterns with an icord sewn in down the middle to take a stab at a miista dupe 🧶: knitting for olive soft silk mohair in color brown bear (held with knit picks wonderfluff in espresso for the icord seam) by @woolwaulking
self-drafted toast dupe raglan for today ⟡₊ ⊹ 🧶: studio donegal tweed in color garnet (rly need to expand my color palette…) ft. new custom cone mills denim from neighbor @todd_martin_studio 🪡 by @woolwaulking
dunce cap lamp 🕯️ a prototype for the in-progress origami fold lampshade i posted on my story last week! i think that one’s gonna end up a standing lamp, but this still proved a great test subject for figuring out different ways to mount/suspend/get the form to hold its shape, etc. (& cable practice too) 🧶: stash cotton/acrylic blend courtesy the free table on my block no pattern, just knit up a tube and cinched at the top with a metal ring that fit over the pendant kit. cast off onto some craft wire to flare out the base…though i might shorten said wire and try to vertically reinforce the cables to make it a little more egg shaped….much to think about…. by @woolwaulking
first cardigan! pattern: ozetta natures cardigan (adapted for batwing sleeves & decided not to go for pockets) 🧶: biches & bûches lambswool in color dark grey brown, held together with knitting for olive soft silk mohair in black buttons from a yarn shop in dublin whose name escapes me!! by @woolwaulking
quick outer layer for an upcoming wedding in cavan! knit up super quick on-and-off over ~1 week 🪡 pattern: mist sleeves by @garnogslikt 🧶: 3 skeins @malabrigoyarn worsted in black forest x 2.5 skeins @itoyarn sensai mohair, both from @cleosyarnshop dress by @bitestudios ! by @woolwaulking
