The Woolwich Carnival is back again this Saturday 🎉 Now in its 11th year, the @woolwichcarnival parade kicks off from Love Lane. You can get involved in the parade by arriving from 1:30pm at Love Lane in the town centre. The parade will start from 2pm, slowly making its way through the town centre towards @woolwichworks. The Courtyard at Woolwich Works will host a mix of DJs, dancers and bands between 1pm & 9pm organised by @taruarts. There is also an afterparty in the Visitors Book Cafe until 10:30pm 🪩 This weekend we also have the final Summer Late Night Markets in Beresford Square, from 4pm - 9pm this Friday and Saturday. Expect live performances, good food and even some free outdoor fitness sessions. 💪🏽 If that wasn't enough, the Producers Market is also back on Saturday in the Royal Arsenal after its summer break. No need to go anywhere else this weekend. #woolwichcarnival by @woolwichcarnival

September is actually one of my favourite months for family days out in London. The summer crowds start disappearing, weekends feel a little calmer… and there are still so many things to do with kids for FREE in South London this month! I’ve collected some of the best September events I could find, including: 🎭 Woolwich Carnival @woolwichcarnival 🚀 The Curiosity Rover in Croydon — catch it before it disappears! @culturecroydon 🏛 Open House Festival @opencity_uk 🌙 Moon Celebration Week in Greenwich @royalmuseumsgreenwich ⚓️ Heritage Open Days at the Prince Philip Maritime Collections Centre 🎉 Bermondsey Street Festival @bermondsstfest 🌍 Culture Jam in Greenwich 🏭 Heritage Open Day at @woolwichworks 🏛 Crystal Palace Museum @crystalpalaceparktrust 🎨 SLG Forever Fête at @southlondongallery Some are big once-a-year festivals. Others are places and activities you might simply not know existed. And quite a few are happening next weekend, so this is definitely not one to save and forget about until October. 📌 Save this for your September weekends. And send it to a South London parent who is always asking: “What are we doing with the kids this weekend?” by @woolwichcarnival
📍 Where to find us this September We'll be taking a short break from the 16th but we'll be back at the following markets: 26 Sep: Dartford Market 27 Sep: @kvsundaymarket 28 Sep: Royal Arsenal Pop Up See you at one or more of the events! by @woolwichcarnival
Join @taruarts #for our final carnival-making workshop this afternoon at Woolwich Works! We’ve had an incredible time creating stunning decorations for the parade, and today is your last chance to jump in on the creative fun. Woolwich Works - Beanfeast Room - 2pm to 5pm.
