New album “Departures” coming in 2026, recorded with Lachlan Mitchell at @parliamentstudios.

Building on the band’s signature hypnotic and propulsive sound that blends post-punk, doom, shoegaze, hard hitting heavier elements and gothic melancholia, Departures contains The Veil’s most incisive and compelling songwriting to date, representing a major statement from a unique entity in Australian underground music. by @the_veil_band

This week we caught up with Perth's Deadspace as they tour Australia in support of their new album The Dark Enlightenment. Vocalist Chris takes the time to walk us through his deeper approacher to lyric writing, and guitarist Tom talks to us about those harsh realities when working for a living while when you're in a band.
