There are not ample words to express my gratitude for Kenya and all it had to offer on this cultural emmersion, yoga retreat! It was all about the people and the kindness that oozed into our souls every step of the way.
Asante Sana to all who supported us and held us….

And deep gratitude to the yogis who took a leap of faith and trusted us to be your guide on this experience and absorbed the richness of all. The real yoga is in what we bring back in our hearts and I hope your hearts are full.

“If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
African Proverb

In 2019 I completed my first YTT in Nairobi with some of the most amazing humans who have become my dear friends and colleagues. In a few days I will have the honor and blessing of taking a group of beautiful yogis with me to experience the love and spirit of Kenya.

Asante sana Kenya, my retreat partner, Rosemary @kazeynicyogawellbeingcentre.
My colleagues @harun_k___ @kin.3972 and @fred.gwance @africayogaproject for these in meaningfully deepening experiences along the yoga and life journey.

Just completed 4 of 5 300YTT modules @kripalucenter, including this one to teach Kripalu yoga to adolescents.

Thank you @kripalucenter for the depth of wisdom and connection to self and community that you offer. I always leave training fully reminded of the healing power of yoga and closer to home in my heart.

Welcome beautiful granddaughter, Juniper. There has been no gift greater than watching the miracle of you these past 3 months.

Juniper

Tiny hand rests on mother’s heart.
Skin melts from one to other.
First sounds, scents, sensations.
Like the tiniest matryoshka doll she is nested in her mother and all the mothers who held her before.

Mother’s inhale merging with tiny exhale.
Eyelashes casting a sweet veil on luminous cheeks.
Spirit deep in her Labradorite eyes.
Their soft focus inward and out.

Empty of judgement, opinions, anger, scars and attachments.
Free within the tiny bliss body.
Unfolding spirit,
Awakening witness,
minute by minute.
Expanding, synthesizing, integrating, becoming.

Become nothing little girl.
Stay in sweet presence.
Like the Juniper tree.
Roots in ground,
Stable in presence
Slow, silent inner strength,
Weaving connection to all.
Green all year. A glowing light emanating in the heart cultivated from divine, maternal love.

“I am a pilgrim on the path of love.”
Swami Kripalu

Simple acts of love.
Let me never tire of them.
Allow me to journey into self.
Dismantle day by day,
The barriers,
Obstructions,
Walls.
As they crumble me into humility.
Expose my heart.
Opens its doors.
So I can radiate love,
And love can walk in and remove its shoes in my heart’s home with comfort and ease.
And Let this love within be my simple contribution to peace without.

While I have loved and honored the rest and slowness of winter this year, the snowy winter days had me looking for ways to ignite and move energy as the sun emerges.

Learn about all the ways you can stretch and strengthen with the handles and hammock of the trapeze.

I offer private and semi-private classes catering to what you or your group is looking for. Inversions for traction, balance and muscle strengthening or pure restorative release. It’s all here for you for up to 5 people indoors.

Connecting our energy to our yoga asana takes working the muscles of awareness and humility.

In my classes I offer steps along the way for each pose because every student is different and even individually, what we want or can do one day may not be available to us the next.

Although we might have the option in class to take a bind like in this revolved runner’s lunge, there are stops along the way, not variations to a pose…places to pause and decide what is needed.

Somedays we need to fully twist and rinse and detox and other days staying in the place where our heart is open to the sky is what we need. That is why I love this practice. It is our own, no matter the flow.

Join me Tuesday’s 9:00-10:15

So many inspiring books … it’s a practice in itself to sit and mindfully absorb all the wisdom from others.

Excited to be subbing 10:30 trapeze class tomorrow @yoga4everybody

I love trapeze because it’s challenging but also so opening. A wonderful way to drop into stretches and also find ways to explore deeper poses with support.

Trapeze is different from aerial as we have 3 handle levels and straps as well as a hammock.

I teach trapeze from a yogic philosophy focusing on breathe, mindset and transformation as we explore new ways of moving.

Here is a trapeze variation of visvamatrasana using the hammock for side body support.

As the full, super moon lights up the Purusha Yoga Pavilion, we think about releasing something heavy that we are carrying, so we can enter the darker season with a little more lightness.

Yoga is about deep inner focus of the mind, over time resulting in changing the way we react to the challenges we face.

Trapeze yoga has opened up a world of creative movement and focus for me and my students.

We work with the yogic philosophies of focusing on breath and observing without judgement, while creating new space physically, emotionally and energetically.

Come try a private lesson or book your group experience. Inside and outside spaces available.
