_ Video, Schnitt, Post Production: Massimo Da Palma @__massimo_ Porträtfotos: Charles Hanil Roberge @hanil.jeong_ Ausstellungsteam: Maike Thies @maike.thies Stefan Kraft @sutekura Johannes Köberle @johnkoeberle Natasha Sebben @natsha_sebben _ #zhdkdesign #design #swissgames #zurich #gamedeveloper by @work_in_progress_artist

CicaDialogues / White Noises Intimacy at distance, beyond the human perspective. In my little work I show a side of Intimacy, we -as humans- can’t experience. The cicada sounds we hear come from only a few species of cicadas. Most species produce sounds outside our audible frequencies. These sing forever unheard. We can hear the species of singing cicadas. They communicate and synchronize their chorus. Day and night. Males attract females, all defend their territory. They are loud. A plague? In many countries, the sound of cicadas is part of everyday life. In the countryside as well as in the city. The song of the cicadas remains persistent and yet ignored by most. A song of a species with a powerful voice that nevertheless goes under. White Noise. In my work I wanted to focus on the dialogues of cicadas. Them producing white noise. Being so loud yet silent. I used the 3d-modelling medium as a little challenge for myself. But also, to realize the vision I had in mind: A single cicada communicating with her surrounding cicadas. All of them in a chorus. As there are many different species I tried to create some variations. All of them sitting on a net. A net of communication or a net of constraints… Max Egli by @work_in_progress_artist

Some work I did on my trip in Japan. “Lean on Fat” Over the past two weeks I experimented with acrylic and oil colors: Applying acrylic color on a layer of oil color causes a hydrophobic reaction. By then tipping some oil drops onto the surface, organic shapes will form. -Here I tested different parameters like the density of the acrylic paint and different kind of oils. #work_in_progress #abstractart #abstractartist #leanonfat #oilpainting #acrylicpainting #hydrophobic #experimentalart by @work_in_progress_artist
This series of images was created with the aim of taking the birds away from the classic object photography. The focus layed on the composition, the choice of birds and a yellow image element, usually in the form of a tape.
