100 Days of Dancing — Day 18

A little footage from early in the night, while I still had space to pickup my camera! 😅

Okay I didn’t capture any of it on camera but I promised I danced my a$$ off as soon as my booth wasn’t flooded with beautiful humans! 😍

Thanks to @woven.yvr for hosting this beautiful event!

Artist Announcement

MANDAI

This bad gyal has been a long-time staple in Vancouver's underground bass scene for more than two decades. She started out by spending countless hours digging elbow-deep in crates of 45s in Canada, the US and Jamaica. Her finely curated sets landed her behind the decks continuously and firmly solidified her as a member of Vancouver's notorious LIGHTA! crew. Blending reggae/dancehall with dembow/bass/rap/RnB/grime, her musical repertoire is expansive and fresh. A regular at Bass Coast, she also graced stages at Shambhala, Diversity and her family-run festival The Field. She rocked the Thunder Stage at LIB and made ripples at the Moon Stage at the Oregon Eclipse by @woven.yvr

Root & Form

Root & Form is a land-based art practice founded by multidisciplinary artist Mink Taylor. Working across wearable adornments, live-edge wood paintings, and sculptural forms, Mink makes art rooted in reverent relationship with the ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Her practice is shaped by a life lived in awe of the mist-veiled coastal rainforests of the Pacific Northwest, and deepened by more than twelve years as an ancestral skills and deep nature-connection mentor. Wood, metal, stone, moss, and fungi act not only as inspiration, but as teachers and collaborators. Alive with story and meaning, Mink’s art and ritual objects speak to the wild soul.
