LOVE YA, HON! 🎊💙🫶 Big ups to our friends at @thebayonline and our sibling station @wypr881fm for being named finalists. World Cafe is kicking off another Sense of Place series this week. Our latest destination may only be a short train ride away from our Philadelphia headquarters, but Baltimore is a city like no other. To help us get things going, we've enlisted Izzi Bavis (@radiogirlizzi), evening host at WTMD, to share some tracks from up-and-coming talent in Baltimore. "There's a level of authenticity here that can't be beat," she says. "Everyone is so dedicated to the music, whether it be a huge band like Turnstile, or whether you're playing with a group of friends at a pizza place." Tune in all this week for interviews with Future Islands, The Baltimore Rock Opera Society, Beach House, Dan Deacon, and more. by @wtmdradio

Had a great time in the @wtmdradio studio yesterday supporting their Fall Membership Drive and talking about something we’re passionate about — Baltimore’s local music and arts scene! 🎶🎙️ We also played three tracks from the lounge: • “Good Girl” by @daphneeckmanmusic • “Prune Provider” by @madisunbaileymusic • “Looking, She” by @outcallsband We got to share what we’re building with Sanity Lounge and What’s Happening Baltimore, and how we’re working to connect local artists, venues, and the community. Huge thanks to @radiogirlizzi for having me on the air and @imabyrd5 for making it happen! WTMD does so much for local music, and we’re proud to be part of that community. Support local music, support local artists, and support the stations that give them a voice! 🤘 #WTMD #SanityLounge #WhatsHappeningBaltimore #SupportLocalMusic #PublicRadio by @wtmdradio

Why does Public Radio Music Day matter? Because public radio gives communities a place to hear themselves. Local stations champion musicians, strengthen local music economies, bring people together, and preserve the sounds and stories that make each place unique. On Wednesday, October 28, we’re joining @noncommusic to celebrate the public radio music stations that sound like home—wherever home may be. 🏠🎶 #PublicRadioMusicDay2026 #SoundsLikeHome by @wtmdradio
