| 🇬🇧/🇺🇸 ~ In 2024, I only read one book, even though I’ve always loved reading but I no longer had the desire or patience for it. Last year, I read so much more and I am proud of myself and happy to have rediscovered my favorite hobby 📖✨ This pile may seem very small but for me, the difference between the two years is huge 🖤 I’m aiming for at least double that in 2026 🤓🤞🏻

Summary for 2025 (the last one doesn’t count, I haven’t finished it yet 🙈) :

▪️The three volumes of #thehousemaid series (« The housemaid », « The housemaid’s secret » and « The housemaid is watching) by @fmcfaddenauthor + @bookouture and @poisonedpenpress 👀 (in English)

▪️« Ward D » by @fmcfaddenauthor + @poisonedpenpress 🏥 (in English)

▪️The three volumes of #kingdomofthewicked (« Kingdom of the Wicked », « Kingdom of the Cursed » and « Kingdom of the Feared ») by @kerrimaniscalco + @pal_editions 💀💫 (in French)

Have you read any of these books ? If so, what did you think of them ? If not, are you tempted to read them ? ☺️ by @x_undertherainbow_x

| « This perfect home has one rule. Don’t look behind closed doors… » - The housemaid’s secret - @fmcfaddenauthor + @bookouture 👀

« It’s hard to find an employer who doesn’t ask too many questions about my past. So I thank my lucky stars that the Garricks miraculously give me a job, cleaning their stunning penthouse with views across the city and preparing fancy meals in their shiny kitchen. I can work here for a while, stay quiet until I get what I want.

It’s almost perfect. But I still haven’t met Mrs Garrick, or seen inside the guest bedroom. I’m sure I hear her crying. I notice spots of blood around the neck of her white nightgowns when I’m doing laundry. And one day I can’t help but knock on the door. When it gently swings open, what I see inside changes everything…

Douglas Garrick has done wrong. He is going to pay. It’s simply a question of how far I’m willing to go… »

When something becomes a big hit and you see it everywhere, I tend to want to avoid it and not be interested in it at all 🫣 Well, I almost missed out on a great author and this book ! I am so happy my mother took it with her on our summer vacation. I started with the second book of the series (because the first one was on her @amazonkindle and she was reading another book on it) and was immediately hooked 🤩 Because of my law studies, I kinda lost my taste for reading as a hobby and this book allowed me to rediscover it 📚 I devoured it in a few days and recommend it 100% !

❤️
- Perfect holiday reading. The style is simple but fluid and you get swept up in the story as if you were watching a nice TV show 🍿📺
- A good book for people learning English.
- Each new detail gives the impression that you understand the story but the next one then sows doubt, right up to the little twist at the end 👏🏻
- First time « meeting » Millie and Enzo and I like them a lot, it made me want to read the other books.

💔
- Nothing !
