Mint is gearing up to compete at this year's Dodgeball Club Championships in Marhkam, ON. We're excited to show off our newest jerseys for this year's tourney. Proud to showcase our KB emblem, always remembering our dearest Friend and Teammate, Kyle Brisebois, and making sure he's always playing alongside us! And of coarse, making sure our biggest supporters, Keith and Terri, have their own jerseys to cheer us on with. These 2 are huge contributors to the Mint team and the Dodgeball community. They are constantly devoting their time and effort to events in dodgeball. We love them and miss Kyle dearly! ❤️ See you all at Clubs!

Now let's go win big in Vegasssssss!!! by @xayphee11

So, probably a relatively different post coming from the latest Canadian Dodgeball Club Championships.

The perspective of a ref side of things. There's lots of reasons many people don't volunteer to referee competitive dodgeball. And I don't blame them. It is a really hard role that has a lot of responsibility tied to it.

Just like many other sports, referees in dodgeball can be made out to look like the villains, because with every call, someone loses out. In most cases, there's eye rolls, hand gestures, swearing, etc towards refs that can be emotionally draining when you're doing it all day. Because again, a call has to be made in some extremely tough situations, and it's going to favor one team over the other.

Sometimes, we get the call wrong. But other times......yep, that's right. We get'em right! The idea that in Professional sports, they have numerous refs, with the help of numerous cameras, tracking one object, and they can still get those calls wrong.

It makes getting the calls right in the dodgeball world, feel that much better. It helps off put the eye rolls, and the swearing, and the hand gestures. People are so quick to point out the bad calls because they have been known to turn games. This post is to praise those good calls that looked wrong in the moment, but in the end was the right call. For refs, those calls are full of emotional stress that we have to just swallow and refocus to make sure the game stays on track. So the applause goes to all the hard working refs out there making the difference in this sport.

Hopefully, one day, we will have a way to consistently have great refs to keep this sport thriving, and one day, see it through to the Olympics! (Oh, and VAR. One day. One day. )

In the meantime, always thank your refs, cause without them, there ain't no dodgeball!

Ps, those pics show a few really tough calls that came out on top, winning!!

Also to note, even though the competitiveness of the sport is more intense and fiercer than ever, so has the honesty of many teams. It's something refs value more than ever. Keep up the great work, athl

Until next year!!

Reminiscing on the last year we had together, which included some really special events, such as both representing Canada on the World stage and of coarse, your very special day, as you married your best friend. Im so glad we have these things to share together and am looking forward to more future special events!

VMSL Major Men's playoff game against POLSKA. Fairly lopsided game, which was unfortunate because these guys had such a good game last week. But we just kept scoring cause the differential could make a difference in the standings. They did have some good chances and I had to make some saves!

VMSL Majors playoff game against Athletico FC. Pretty light work. My team played very well and held possession most of the game. Had a couple of close incidents, but was able to pull off the clean sheet!
