Went so gawf on World Goth Day that we landed on death metal... Phenomenal show. Metalocalypse and Dethklok creator, Brendon Small, is an exquisite composer. Gene Hoglan (aka The Atomic Clock and The Human Drum Machine) I knew from his days in Strapping Young Lad, which is what got me watching the show in the first place. And Nili Brosh stepping into the live lineup for this tour was just awe inspiring. The split harmonics between her and Brendon were sublime. Uh, and then there was a bass player. . . . . . . You could feel Pete Griffin's bass enveloping and lifting all the instruments together before assaulting the audience with an audio tsunami. Low mids are my happy place. There was only one thing that disappointed me: They didn't play "Crush The Industry." by @xianvox

RIP, Udo Kier. Born of wreckage, immortalitized in film, and now returning to the earth, your body of work was a work of art. Your eyes pierced the depths of human nature, and your craft catalyzed and magnified its beauty, splendor, brutality and horror in a way that few would dare to dream. The gift of honest and beloved deviance. I hope that the experience of life and now death was everything you desired. by @xianvox
Back when I DJed as a stitched up country girl with my BLUEBLOOD teddy bear for the @BouletBrothers 13th Annual Miss Kitty's Halloween Ball with Clive Barker @ The Dragonfly back in 2013. Such a great night. 🎃💋 by @xianvox
We were here long before this county existed. And we'll remain long after. by @xianvox
Oh man, this one hits different... My heart goes out to the surviving family and @NitzerEbb artists and production crew. As a danceclub DJ and promoter, I rarely booked bands. But back in 2007, the one year I did a multi-night HEX HOLLYWOOD HALLOWEEN massive, I took a chance and reached out to Nitzer Ebb's booking manager. And it culminated in the show of a lifetime at our beloved Monte Cristo. They became the headliner of the main event's industry pre-party, two nights before. Which required a higher-tiered industry party ticket, and was limited to 150 in total. And then on top of that I guestlisted every promoter and DJ I could think of. And spared no expense on their technical rider. In return, Nitzer Ebb spared no energy in their performance. @DouglasJMcCarthy threw down hard. And brought so much fire you could feel the venue burn. Our home became their violent playground. Afterwards, with no meaningful green room and limited attendance, they and their whole crew hung with the crowd. One of thousands of such nights for them, I'm sure. But for me this is the memory of Nitzer Ebb and of Douglas that I cherish the most. And by the delighted looks on everyone's faces back then — who got to experience such an intimate evening with these living legends of industrial and truly join in the chant — Douglas will remain alive in our hearts and minds longer still. RIP Douglas McCarthy. 🖤🙏🏻 📷 by @lostgirlla by @xianvox
