Cardi B once said: “I’ve been losing my mthfuckn medulla.”
It's been 2 years since I have lasted posted on here. So hi 👋🏼 by @xicagoriver

This journey took a total of 13 years and now it has finally come to a close.

Today was such an honor to myself spiritually, mentally and reflecting on my accomplishments and me getting to where I am.

I’m really grateful for all the PAX classmates, awesome mentors, advisors, and professors who have helped me get through school with care and empathy.

I started at DePaul in 2021 and I am now exiting in 2024. Throughout my time at DePaul, I had various physical and mental health challenges. Currently, I am short term disabled because of a herniated disc and pinched nerve.

Because of this injury I can’t stand more than about four minutes before an episode happens.

Graduating today and having surgery on Tuesday is very surreal.

Thank you to my family and friends for showing up for me in different ways. This also applies to my social media family.

Congratulations to me! by @xicagoriver

Happy 1 year of sobriety to me.
I don’t have a picture of myself a year ago but I look very different now. I never wrote down where I was mentally, emotionally and physically but I shared my story with friends.
I write this down today to just recognize how hard it’s been even when it isn’t obvious to the eye of others. I was told to stop drinking and smoking for my health. I became very sick and am now 1 year in remission from alcohol use and cigarettes.
I have other reasons for having had to stop but I do want to thank all the people who know the intimate details. The ones who asked questions and even though it was awkward they 100% spoke to me about it.

At 30 years young I have experienced so much in all capacities as all humans do. But today I wake up experiencing love and embrace from myself as I was the one who had to truly make the change and stick to it.

Happy 1 year.
