What happens when a Mexican Sephardi Yeshiva student crosses paths with a well-known Flatbush Ashkenazi girl? In this episode, Yaffa and Rabbi Nisso Palti share their incredible journey of finding each other despite cultural differences, and the unspoken “rules” of dating.

Yaffa Palti is a beloved speaker, educator, and community leader, while her husband, Rabbi Nisso Palti, is a Torah educator and the rabbi of a thriving community and shul in Aventura. Originally from Mexico, Nisso opens up about his upbringing, the challenges he faced, and what ultimately led him to America.

Yaffa shares her personal struggles navigating high school, bouncing between multiple schools, being misunderstood, and even getting expelled. She reflects on the pivotal role of a friend who believed in her—an act of kindness that changed the course of her life.

Now, as parents with children in shidduchim, the Paltis offer their insights on easing anxiety and fear in the matchmaking process. They emphasize the importance of encouraging children to live fully in the present, rather than making them feel that their best years are still ahead.

They also highlight their deep belief that God always has a plan—something they’ve seen unfold in their own lives—and that the greatest gift a parent can give is unconditional love and support for their child in the here and now.

Whether you’re navigating the world of dating, a parent guiding a child, or simply love an inspiring story, this episode will challenge the way you think about relationships and destiny. by @meaningfulminute

Ingredients:
•2 large onions cut into half moon slices
* 3 leeks chopped- don’t discriminate- use the whole leek!
* 1/3 cup avocado or olive oil
* About 3 lbs first cut brisket
* 4 carrots peeled and cut into logs
* 4 parsnips peeled and cut into long chunks (long chunk? no idea how to describe that shape)
* 2 whole garlic heads separated into cloves
* about 4 medium sweet potatoes
* a bunch of small golden potatoes, peel on
* salt, pepper, and paprika for the brisket rub. Massage it on each side.
* About 1/2 cup coconut aminos
* About 1/2 cup honey
*  1/2 cup hot water
* About 4/5 Tablespoons onion soup mix
*  2 tsp. dijon mustard
* 2 cups of your preferred red wine (not dry)

Directions:
* Heat oil in a large casserole pot or a not- too- deep wok, over medium flame.
Sauté onion slices for about 6 minutes until softened.
* Add celery to the pot for another 4 minutes, then add the sliced leeks and mix em all together

Brisket:
* Season brisket with salt, pepper, and paprika, then massage evenly on both sides.
* Split the onions and leeks to the sides of the pot, opening a space in the center. Add a bit more oil and place brisket in the pot, searing each side for 5-7 minutes.
* Add carrots, parsnips and garlic cloves to the pot.
* Lower flame and prepare marinade by combining all ingredients except wine in a bowl. Whisk em together and pour over brisket, and a bit on the veggies.
* Pour 2 cups of red wine over the brisket.
*
(Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary)

* Cover and cook on low flame for about 1 hour.
* Wash and cut potatoes and sweet potatoes

After an hour, add about 4 cups chicken or meat broth.
Arrange potatoes around the pot and add some salt to them.
Make sure there’s liquid under the meat and veggies.
Lower the flame and cook for another two hours.

* Garnish with fresh parsley; serve and ENJOY THE BEST BRISKET EVER!

Sometimes, even with the very best intentions, the way we express our love isn’t always the way it’s received.

And there’s something so beautiful in Parshas Noach that invites us to think about this a little differently.

I’d love for you to swipe through the slides to learn about it with me 🩶

Have a blessed and beautiful Shabbos 🩶 by @meaningfulminute

Have you ever wished someone would notice something you haven’t actually told them? ❤️

There’s something in Parshas Bereishis that gives us such a beautiful perspective on this very human experience.

And I think it’s something we can all learn from, on both sides of a relationship.

Shabbat Shalom! ❤️ by @meaningfulminute

So HOW do we help our children make Torah theirs?

Are we only teaching them how to carry Torah, or are we helping them experience it as their own?

Because our children don’t only need to see that we serve Torah. They need to see that Torah serves life. ❤️

Part 2: How we help them own it.

Our children can grow up doing all the right things and still experience Yiddishkeit as something they inherited rather than something they chose.

We want to give them more than a Torah life. We want to help them develop their own relationship with Hashem and make that Torah life theirs. ❤️

Part 1: Why that matters.

Part 2 coming soon! 😊

A TASTE OF TORAH ❤️

A little Shemini Atzeres thought while we make the most delicious meatball soup… because apparently we’re feeding the people again. 😅

And you NEED to make this soup for the last days of Yom Tov. It is hearty, cozy, ridiculously delicious, and those little meatballs are dangerous.
Consider yourself warned.

SAVE THIS ONE because you’re going to want it.

MEATBALL VEGETABLE SOUP

For the meatballs:
• 1¼–1½ lbs ground beef
• 1 egg
• ⅓ cup seasoned breadcrumbs
• ¼ cup vegan Parmesan
• 2–3 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 1–2 tsp Pereg Meatball Spice, to taste
• Salt to taste

For the soup:
• Olive oil
• 1 onion, chopped
• 3–4 cloves garlic, chopped
• 3–4 carrots, sliced
• 3–4 celery stalks, sliced
• Chicken broth, enough to generously cover everything
• A few big handfuls of fresh spinach
• Salt + pepper to taste

Mix the meatball ingredients just until combined. Roll into very small meatballs, but don’t over-roll them! A couple of quick rolls is enough. The more you work the meat, the tougher they’ll get.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet and brown the meatballs on all sides. They don’t need to cook completely through because they’ll finish cooking in the soup.

Add the chicken broth to a large pot. I used homemade broth that I had previously made, but store-bought is absolutely fine. Add the onion, garlic, carrots, celery and browned meatballs.

Bring to a boil, lower to a simmer and cook for about 45–60 minutes, until the vegetables are tender and everything is delicious and happy together. 😄
Add the spinach toward the end and cook until wilted. Taste and adjust the seasoning.

Serve HOT and ENJOY!!!

And whatever you do, try to make sure the meatballs actually make it into the soup….because once you pop you can’t stop 😅

Chag Sameach!! May we enjoy every minute of these final beautiful days of Yom Tov. ❤️ by @meaningfulminute

Before we teach our girls how to dress, let’s teach them how valuable they are.

Every time we step back instead of stepping in, we give our children the opportunity to discover something priceless: That Hashem didn’t create them fragile. He created them wonderfully capable.
And when a child truly begins to believe that, her self-esteem strengthens.

- Raizy Fried
@raizyscookin

As parents, we spend so much time thinking about what we should teach our children. We teach them brachos. We teach them mitzvos. We teach them the
stories of the Torah. We remind them to say “thank you,” to share, to apologize, to help, to daven.

Those things matter deeply.

And yet, the more I think about it the more I realize there’s something equally as important as teaching our children about Hashem.

Helping them discover what a relationship with Him can feel like.

Because children don’t only learn from the lessons we teach; they absorb the atmosphere we create.

- Yaffa Palti
@yaffapalti

“The strongest-willed children often become the most determined adults. What looks like stubbornness today may become resilience tomorrow.”

Have you ever wondered why some children move through the day gracefully and others protest with tears and tantrums when it is time to change activities?

The very trait that challenges you today may become the quality that helps your child succeed tomorrow.

I wanted to share this little reminder with you to take into Yom Kippur:

We can deeply regret the choices we’ve made without allowing those choices to define who we are.

And to help make Vidui feel more personal and meaningful, I created two printable Vidui companions for you: one to use for reflection before Yom Kippur, and one to tuck right into your machzor.

Both links are in my Stories. Print one or both and take them with you. 🤍

Love you all 🥰

We’ve all said it… “When I was your age…” 😅

But our children aren’t growing up when we did. And Ha’azinu has something so wise to teach us about what that means for the Torah and values we’re trying to give them.

This message is for all of us raising the next generation. ❤️ by @meaningfulminute
