POSTS STORIES REELS

Regardless of race, religion, nationality, or gender, I believe every human being deserves one fundamental right — the right to live with dignity.

I believe God created each of us to love and care for one another and, above all else, to uphold one another’s dignity. Throughout my life, and to this very moment, that is all I have strived to do.

I am deeply humbled to have received the Governor General’s award in Commemoration of the Persons Case.

To my mother, who, in the face of extraordinary hardship and with the humblest of means, fought tirelessly to protect my dignity and my education, and in doing so, helped shape the woman I am today — thank you.

I thank God for the strength and grace to continue this journey. I thank my incredible Help A Girl Out @hago_canada team for their unwavering belief in our mission. And I am forever grateful to the little island of Jamaica, where my story began and where the seeds of my purpose were first planted.

Finally, I leave you with this reminder — ‘our greatest impact is not measured by the recognition we receive, but by the dignity we restore, the lives we uplift, and the doors we open for those who come after us.’

Congratulations to the other extraordinary recipients.

What an amazing night! ✨

The room was electric on Friday night as we celebrated the 5th anniversary of the @womenempowermentawards! It’s always such a privilege to be surrounded by women who are committed to celebrating, uplifting, and creating meaningful connections with one another.

To my great surprise — and tremendous honour — I was presented with the Scotia Leadership Award! 🏆

It was a surprise not because I haven’t put in the work — because I absolutely have — but because I was nominated alongside some truly incredible women who were equally deserving of this recognition. To be recognized among them makes this honour even more meaningful.

A huge thank you to Klaudia Zinaty and the entire WOEA team for the incredible platform, support, and recognition they have given women over the past five years. Your work to bring women together and celebrate their achievements is truly inspiring. ❤️

Here’s to continuing to lift each other up, celebrate one another, and make space for women to shine!

They say I don’t tell my story enough! Lots of new and old friends here, so I thought let me do a soft introduction of myself…

I am physicist that started a charity for menstrual and uterine health (long story). I grew up in Jamaica but moved to Canada at 14 yrs old with my mom and sisters. We lived in Brampton ON but now I live in Brantford ON (🌾🛤️🪾) iykyk My fav colour is brown and favourite thing to do is debate on contrasting issues.

Now it’s your turn. Feel free to introduce yourself or reconnect with me in the comments. It’s nice to meet you!

Last week, we brought together an inspiring group of partners, advocates, and stakeholders for an evening of meaningful conversations and collective action. 🩸

Together, we explored the past, present, and future of menstrual equity—reflecting on how far we've come in challenging period poverty and stigma, the barriers that continue to affect millions, and the opportunities we have to create lasting, systemic change.

The evening was also an opportunity to share HAGO's journey, celebrate the progress we've made in expanding access to menstrual products and comprehensive menstrual health education. Most importantly we had the opportunity to introduce HAGO’s vision for the future.

Our key message: Awareness is only the beginning. Real change happens when we turn knowledge into action. 🩸🙋‍♀️

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us, contributed to the conversation, and demonstrated their commitment to building a future where menstruation is never a barrier to education, opportunity, health, or dignity.

Wrapped up HAGO's Threads of Change event alongside some of the most incredible people. The Reusables Project—an initiative I envisioned and spent years fighting to bring to life—has grown into a beautiful testament to perseverance and impact.

This multi-faceted project addresses critical issues: offering a long-term solution to period poverty, delivering sewing skill workshops across 13 cities, reducing single-use plastic waste, and championing sustainable alternatives.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who came alongside me to make this journey possible over the years. There's too many people to name! Your support helped turn this project into something truly transformative.

You can’t truly move forward without taking stock of where you’ve been, where you are, and where you are going.

To be effective, we must embrace every moment and situation in its full complexity—each one adds to the cumulative richness of life.

Life is a beautiful truth to be felt deeply, in all its essence.

Bloom Unapologetically 🌻

In a sea of sunflowers, no two are the same. The same can be said for people. So take up space, but make sure it’s positive space.

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind and today is the first time I've gotten the chance to stop and smell the roses 🌹 I had an amazing time at the WOEA @womenempowermentawards !! I met many new faces and reconnected with some longtime allies as well. I just love being apart of this community of women! 🌟💫

My purpose work through @hago_canada has truly taken me places (both challenging and rewarding). I am deeply grateful for the journey and to be of service to women and girls.
