🏴‍☠️ KEEP MOVING FORWARD, YARDPIRATE! 💪 Sometimes I need to remind myself of something… LOOK HOW FAR YOU’VE COME! You’ve faced challenges. You’ve made mistakes. You’ve had setbacks. You’ve questioned yourself. And you’ve had days when giving up seemed easier than moving forward. BUT YOU’RE STILL HERE! Still learning. Still growing. Still building. Still chasing dreams that once seemed impossible. At 51 years old, I’m not finished. I’M JUST GETTING STARTED! 🔥 I don’t have to have everything figured out today. I don’t have to compete with anyone else’s journey. I just have to keep showing up, believing in myself, and taking that next step. Some days the progress will be incredible. Other days, simply getting through the day will be enough. BOTH ARE WORTH BEING PROUD OF. So here’s my reminder to myself… Keep your head up. Keep your heart strong. Celebrate your victories. Learn from your mistakes. And NEVER stop believing in what you’re building. THE BEST CHAPTERS OF MY LIFE MAY STILL BE AHEAD OF ME! ❤️ 🏴‍☠️ RISE. RESET. REBUILD. KEEP MOVING FORWARD, YARDPIRATE! And to anyone else who needed to hear this today… YOUR STORY ISN’T OVER EITHER! Now give me your BEST ARRRGH! 🏴‍☠️ #KeepMovingForward #RiseResetRebuild #StartingOverAt50 #NeverTooLate #yardpirate by @yardpirate
🏴‍☠️ EDGING SHOULD NEVER BE OPTIONAL! 🌿💪 I’m going to say something that might upset a few people in the lawn care industry… IF YOU’RE GOING TO MAINTAIN A LAWN, EDGE THE PROPERTY! Period. I don’t care how beautifully you mow the grass. If the sidewalks, driveways, curbs, and landscape borders look like they’ve been forgotten… THE JOB ISN’T FINISHED! Edging is what gives a property that crisp, clean, professional appearance. It’s the difference between a lawn that was simply cut and a property that looks professionally maintained. At Flash Of Green Landscaping, I believe edging should be part of a complete lawn maintenance service. Not an upsell. Not something you skip to save a few minutes. BUILD IT INTO YOUR PRICE AND DO THE JOB RIGHT! 💪 Your customers are paying for professional service. Give them a professional result. And remember… THE DETAILS ARE WHAT SEPARATE GOOD FROM GREAT! 👇 GREEN INDUSTRY, LET’S SETTLE THIS! Should edging ALWAYS be included in lawn maintenance, or should it be an additional charge? COMMENT BELOW! 👇🔥 🏴‍☠️ ARRRGH — Real Life. Real Talk. Real Business. #LawnCareBusiness #LawnEdging #LandscaperLife #GreenIndustry #yardpirate by @yardpirate
🚨 LANDSCAPING BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY! 🚨 ATTENTION ALL LANDSCAPERS AND BUSINESS OWNERS! 🏴‍☠️ Apparently, we need to start protecting ourselves from MOTHER NATURE! 🌧️🤣 Did it rain last night? IS THE GRASS WET?! DEPLOY THE WET FLOOR CONES!!! 🚧😂 One cone by the sidewalk. One cone by the driveway. One cone in the middle of the lawn. Heck, put one next to the sprinkler heads just to be safe! 💀 We can’t have someone discovering that WATER MAKES THINGS WET! PROTECT YOUR BUSINESS, KREWE! 🤣 At this rate, I’m going to need a separate trailer just to haul all my caution cones! 👇 FELLOW BUSINESS OWNERS: HOW MANY WET FLOOR CONES SHOULD WE CARRY?! 😂 🏴‍☠️ ARRRGH — Real Life. Real Talk. Real Business. #LandscaperHumor #BlueCollarHumor #BusinessOwnerLife #LandscaperLife #yardpirate by @yardpirate
🏴‍☠️ A CLEAN MOWER IS A HAPPY MOWER! 💦🌿 A little hydro cleaning to wash away the grass buildup underneath the mower deck! Keeping your equipment clean is part of keeping your business running efficiently. Less buildup. Better airflow. Better cutting performance. 💪 Take care of your equipment, and it’ll take care of you! Work smarter, not harder! 🏴‍☠️ ARRRGH — Real Life. Real Talk. Real Business. #MowerMaintenance #LawnCareLife #LandscaperLife #GreenIndustry #yardpirate by @yardpirate
🏴‍☠️ STOP CHASING SOMEONE ELSE’S YEAR 20! Let me speak directly to those of you thinking about starting a business at 40, 50, or even 60 years old. YOU ARE NOT BEHIND! One of the biggest traps you can fall into as a new entrepreneur is comparing your beginning to someone else’s 15th or 20th year in business. You see their million-dollar company. Their beautiful trucks. Their equipment. Their employees. Their success. But what you don’t see are the 15 or 20 years of sacrifices, mistakes, failures, sleepless nights, and lessons that got them there. STOP COMPARING YOUR CHAPTER ONE TO THEIR CHAPTER TWENTY! I started over at 45 years old. And at 51, I’m still learning. Still growing. Still making mistakes. Still building. And you know what? I’M PROUD OF WHERE I AM! 💪 You don’t have to build a million-dollar company tomorrow. You don’t need the newest truck. You don’t need the biggest equipment. And you certainly don’t need to impress strangers on social media. DO YOU! Build at YOUR pace. Learn at YOUR pace. Grow at YOUR pace. And here’s something I really want you to understand… TAKE TIME TO ENJOY YOUR WINS! 🙌 Your first customer? CELEBRATE IT! Your first profitable month? CELEBRATE IT! Your first year in business? CELEBRATE IT! Don’t become so obsessed with where you’re going that you forget to appreciate how far you’ve already come. Success isn’t always measured by revenue, employees, or equipment. Sometimes success is simply waking up tomorrow and having another opportunity to build something meaningful. YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD. YOU ARE NOT TOO LATE. YOU ARE NOT BEHIND. You’re building YOUR story, on YOUR timeline. And that’s something worth being proud of. So keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep building. And most importantly… ENJOY THE JOURNEY! 🏴‍☠️ 👇 How old were you when you started your business? Or how old are you now if you’re thinking about starting? 🏴‍☠️ YARDPIRATE REAL LIFE. REAL TALK. 🏴‍☠️ WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER! 🌿💪 Sometimes Mother Nature has other plans! Today’s challenge? A drainage ditch with standing water and ground WAY too soft to support the mower. Could we have tried mowing through it? Sure… but there’s a good chance we’d be spending the afternoon digging a mower out of the mud! 😂 SO WE CHANGED THE PLAN! Instead of risking getting the mower stuck, tearing up the ground, or damaging equipment, we broke out the string trimmer and tackled the ditch another way. Did it take a little more time? Absolutely. But that’s part of being a professional landscaper. ADAPT TO THE CONDITIONS. PROTECT THE PROPERTY. GET THE JOB DONE SAFELY. Not every job calls for the biggest piece of equipment in the trailer. Sometimes the best tool is the one that makes the most sense for the conditions. 👇 Fellow landscapers, would you string trim this ditch or wait until it dries out? 🏴‍☠️ ARRRGH — Real Life. Real Talk. 🏴‍☠️ LUNCH IS OVER… AND MY BREATH IS STANK! 💀🤣 Well, Krewe, apparently my breath needed some professional help today! 😂 Luckily for me, Certs sent over a starter pack with THREE different mint flavors to try! 🔥 CINNAMON ❄️ PEPPERMINT 🌿 SPEARMINT Now comes the important question… WHICH ONE ARE YOU CHOOSING?! 🤔 Are you Team Cinnamon, Team Peppermint, or Team Spearmint? Big thanks to Certs for sending these out! I appreciate the opportunity to give them a try. 👇 DROP YOUR FLAVOR IN THE COMMENTS! 🏴‍☠️ ARRRGH — Real Life. Real Talk. For six years, I’ve ended my videos with the same words: “Give me your best ARRRGH!” But have you ever wondered WHY? Because those three R’s mean something far deeper to me today than they ever have before. RISE. RESET. REBUILD. Life can knock you down. Sometimes so hard that everything you thought you knew about your future changes. Maybe you’re 40, 50, or even 60 years old. Maybe you’ve lost your direction, your business, your confidence, or the life you thought you were going to have. And now you’re wondering if it’s too late to start over. IT’S NOT TOO LATE. I’m 51 years old, and I’m still learning, growing, building, and rebuilding. That’s what YardPirate is about. REAL LIFE. REAL TALK. REAL BUSINESS. No pretending life is perfect. No overnight-success nonsense. Just an ordinary guy sharing the journey of entrepreneurship, hard work, resilience, mistakes, and second chances. Every morning, I want you to remember three things: RISE — Get up. You still have a purpose. RESET — Yesterday doesn’t have to determine tomorrow. REBUILD — Start where you are, with what you have, and keep moving forward. You don’t need to have everything figured out. You just need to begin. If you’re ready to build yourself again, subscribe and come aboard the Krewe. And tomorrow morning, say those three words to yourself. RISE. RESET. REBUILD. Thank me later. 🏴‍☠️ YARDPIRATE REAL LIFE. REAL TALK. REAL BUSINESS. Now… GIVE ME YOUR BEST ARRRGH! #YardPirate #RiseResetRebuild #StartingOver #Entrepreneurship #over40 by @yardpirate
🏴‍☠️ MY MIND SAYS 31. MY BODY SAYS 51! 🌧️😂 I don’t know what it is about working in the rain, but lately it seems to wear me out twice as fast! Maybe it’s the wet clothes. Maybe it’s the extra effort everything takes. Or maybe it’s just the fact that I’M 51 YEARS OLD AND STILL THINK I’M 31! 🤣 One thing about being a landscaper is that Mother Nature doesn’t always cooperate with your schedule. Sunshine? ☀️ We’re working. Cold mornings? 🥶 We’re working. A little rain? 🌧️ We’re still working! Of course, when conditions become unsafe, it’s time to stop. No job is worth getting hurt over. But here’s something I’m learning as I get older… I still have the same drive, determination, and work ethic I had 20 years ago. The difference? My body sends me the bill a whole lot sooner! 💀😂 And recovery isn’t quite as quick as it used to be. But you know what? I still love what I do. I’m grateful I can get up every morning, work with my hands, build my business, and keep chasing my dreams. Getting older doesn’t mean slowing down on your dreams. It means learning to work smarter while you chase them. 💪 👇 Fellow landscapers and blue-collar workers: Does working in the rain exhaust you faster than working in the sunshine? Or is it just me getting older? 😂 🏴‍☠️ ARRRGH — Real Jobs. Real Talk. Real Life. #LandscaperLife #BlueCollarLife #Over50Life #GreenIndustry #yardpirate by @yardpirate
🏴‍☠️ YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! 🌿💰 I recently lost a landscaping client to someone offering prices LOWER than what we were charging back in 2020! 🤯 Let that sink in. It’s 2026. Equipment costs more. Fuel costs more. Insurance costs more. Just about EVERYTHING costs more. But somehow, we’re supposed to charge LESS? Well, I recently saw the property, and let’s just say… THE DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY IS SHOWING! 😳 Here’s something I’ve learned after years of running Flash Of Green Landscaping: Never apologize for charging what your work is worth. There’s always going to be someone willing to do the job cheaper. And that’s okay! I’m not interested in being the cheapest landscaper. I’m interested in delivering quality, consistency, and professionalism. 💪 Now, on to the next topic! 🍂 THE 2026 GROWING SEASON IS WINDING DOWN! Here in Central Florida, we’re reaching that time of year when grass growth begins slowing down and maintenance schedules start transitioning. After today, I’m moving my regular mowing schedule to BIWEEKLY! And that brings me to my question for the Green Industry… 👇 WHEN DID YOU SWITCH TO BIWEEKLY MOWING? Are you already there, or are you still cutting weekly? DROP YOUR LOCATION AND DATE IN THE COMMENTS! 👇 Let’s see how the growing season compares across the country! 🏴‍☠️ ARRRGH — Real Jobs. 🐰🌿 WE ARE STEWARDS OF WILDLIFE! Being a landscaper means working in an environment that we share with countless living creatures. And sometimes, those little creatures need us to look out for them. ❤️ Today, this baby bunny tried desperately to get away from me. The little guy ran so hard that he eventually ran out of energy. That’s when the work stops and compassion takes over. As a former wildlife biologist, I have a tremendous amount of respect for the animals that share our environment. And you better believe… HECK YEAH, I’M GOING TO BE THEIR STEWARD! 💪🐰 We have a responsibility to be aware of what’s around us. Check before mowing. Look before trimming. Watch for nests, burrows, and wildlife hiding in the grass. Give animals room to escape, and never put productivity ahead of protecting a life. Sometimes the best thing we can do is simply stop, give wildlife space, and let nature take its course. Because being a great landscaper isn’t just about taking care of the property. It’s about taking care of the life that lives there. 🌎❤️ 👇 Fellow landscapers, what’s the most memorable wildlife encounter you’ve had on the job? 🏴‍☠️ ARRRGH — Real Jobs. Real Talk.
