LET’S TALK ABOUT SHARIA.

As a Muslimah, I’m happy to see Muslim representation growing in American politics. But I’m also tired of the Islamophobia that comes with it.

First, let’s clear something up.

Sharia isn’t simply a criminal justice system. It’s Islamic guidance rooted in the Quran and Sunnah, covering prayer, charity, fasting, family responsibilities, ethics, and everyday life. Interpretations vary among Muslims.

And no, electing Muslim politicians does NOT mean Sharia will replace American law.

The First Amendment protects religious freedom while prohibiting the government from establishing a religion. Muslim elected officials are bound by the same Constitution as everyone else.

A Muslim holding public office is not a threat to democracy.

We can celebrate Muslim Americans breaking barriers without spreading fear about their faith.

Representation matters. Religious freedom matters. And Islamophobia has no place in either conversation.

IT’S 2026. WHY ARE WE STILL DEALING WITH BLACKFACE?

A Burger King employee was reportedly caught working the drive-thru in blackface on Halloween, telling a Black customer, “I just wanted to be Black.”

Absolutely disgusting.

Blackface has a long, racist history, and there’s no excuse for treating someone’s race like a Halloween costume.

I believe she should have been fired immediately. And if other employees or management witnessed this and chose to remain silent, they deserve to be held accountable too.

Silence in the face of racism allows it to continue.

It’s 2026. We shouldn’t still have to explain why blackface is offensive.

Racism isn’t funny. It isn’t a costume. And it should never be tolerated.

🇺🇸 VIRGINIA ELECTIONS 2026 | ACCOUNTABILITY MATTERS

Election Day is November 3, and I’m voting BLUE! 💙

This year, Virginia voters will decide who represents us in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

Democratic Senator Mark Warner is running for reelection against Republican Bert Mizusawa.

Here in Northern Virginia, Democratic congressional candidates include Don Beyer, Suhas Subramanyam, and James Walkinshaw, each running in a different district.

But this election is about more than names on a ballot.

I’m tired of political corruption, wealthy interests having disproportionate influence, and politicians who seem to forget they’re supposed to serve the American people.

I want representatives who prioritize affordable healthcare, reproductive rights, education, civil liberties, economic stability, and accountability.

And just because I’m voting Democratic doesn’t mean I believe Democrats should be exempt from criticism. Every elected official should answer to the people.

We need to pay attention not only to what candidates promise during election season, but also to what they actually accomplish once elected.

Our government should work for the people, not the powerful.

💬 Virginia voters, what issues are most important to you this November?

FUCK MAGA & TRUMP.

I’m tired of watching racism, cruelty, and corruption become normalized in American politics.

Donald Trump’s administration has repeatedly pursued policies that raise serious concerns about discrimination, civil rights, and the abuse of government power.

From immigration enforcement and mass deportation policies to attacks on diversity initiatives and efforts to weaken federal civil rights protections, the direction of this administration is deeply troubling.

And I’m tired of people pretending that criticizing these policies is somehow worse than the harm they can cause.

When immigrants are treated as threats, when racial and religious minorities feel targeted, and when political loyalty appears more important than accountability, we should be asking serious questions about the people running this country.

Corruption isn’t just about money. It’s also about conflicts of interest, political favoritism, misuse of authority, and whether those in power are held to the same standards as everyone else.

I believe this administration deserves intense scrutiny on all those fronts.

And no, criticizing Trump doesn’t mean I hate America.

It means I believe America should be better than this.

I’m a Pakistani-American woman, and I refuse to stay silent when I see policies and rhetoric that I believe undermine equality, dignity, and basic human rights.

Patriotism isn’t blind loyalty to a president. It’s caring enough about your country to challenge its leaders.

You can disagree with my politics. That’s your right.

But I’m not going to pretend that everything happening is acceptable just to make other people comfortable.

RACISM IS NOT PATRIOTISM.

POWER DOES NOT PUT ANYONE ABOVE THE LAW.

AND NO PRESIDENT IS ABOVE ACCOUNTABILITY.

POSSIBLE STABBING REPORTED NEAR GEORGIA AVENUE–PETWORTH METRO

WASHINGTON, D.C. | OCTOBER 31, 2026

Emergency crews were reportedly dispatched to the area of Georgia Avenue NW and Quincy Street NW on Saturday afternoon following a report of a possible stabbing.

According to a public-safety dispatch alert, the incident was reported at approximately 3:42 p.m., involving a male individual.

A separate public crime map also listed an assault in the nearby 3700 block of Georgia Avenue NW at approximately 3:58 p.m. However, it has not been confirmed whether the two reports are connected.

As of this post, authorities have not publicly confirmed the extent of any injuries, whether a weapon was involved, or whether an arrest has been made.

These details remain preliminary.

The Georgia Avenue–Petworth area is a busy part of Northwest D.C., with residents, commuters, and businesses relying on the surrounding streets and Metro station daily.

I’ll continue following this incident and share verified updates if additional information becomes available.

FAME DOES NOT EXCUSE EXPLOITATION.

Steven Tyler. Elvis Presley. Jerry Lee Lewis. Woody Allen.

Four famous men whose histories raise disturbing questions about age, power, and accountability.

Steven Tyler wrote about his relationship with 16-year-old Julia Holcomb Misley, who later accused him of sexual abuse and exploitation. He reportedly obtained legal guardianship of her. Tyler denies wrongdoing.

Elvis Presley was 24 when he met 14-year-old Priscilla Beaulieu. Their relationship has been romanticized for decades.

Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13-year-old cousin when he was 22. THIRTEEN.

Woody Allen married Soon-Yi Previn, the adopted daughter of his former partner, Mia Farrow. He was not her adoptive father, but their family connection and age difference remain controversial.

These cases are not legally identical, and allegations are not convictions. But they raise a larger question:

WHY DO WE SO OFTEN EXCUSE TROUBLING BEHAVIOR WHEN SOMEONE IS FAMOUS?

For too long, celebrity culture has romanticized relationships that deserve much closer scrutiny.

And when someone says, “But he’s a legend,” my response is simple:

SO WHAT?

Talent doesn’t erase harmful behavior. Fame doesn’t put anyone above accountability.

I intentionally left the women’s photographs out of this post. Their experiences deserve respect, not sensationalism.

There are more stories in Hollywood and the music industry worth examining.

STOP CONFUSING TALENT WITH CHARACTER.

FAME IS NOT A DEFENSE.

DOORDASH DRIVER KILLED IN NASHVILLE SHOOTING; TWO TEENAGERS ARRESTED

MADISON, TENNESSEE

What should have been a routine night of delivering food turned into a tragedy for two brothers.

On October 15, 2026, 22-year-old Jhon Diaz Santos was fatally shot while delivering DoorDash orders with his younger brother, Alan, at the Birchstone Village Apartments in Madison, a community in Nashville.

Alan was also shot and seriously injured. Thankfully, he has since reportedly been released from the hospital and is recovering.

Authorities have arrested two 16-year-olds, Chad T. Wright and De’Nylen Montgomery, in connection with the shooting. Both face charges including criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, and conspiracy. They have not been convicted.

Two brothers were simply trying to earn a living. One never made it home.

As someone who believes strongly in accountability, I find this absolutely heartbreaking and infuriating.

Delivery drivers already face risks while working, particularly when entering unfamiliar neighborhoods and apartment complexes. Nobody should have to wonder whether delivering someone’s dinner could cost them their life.

And while the suspects are teenagers, the seriousness of these allegations cannot be ignored. If convicted, they should face consequences that reflect the devastating harm inflicted on this family.

My heart goes out to Jhon’s mother, his surviving brother, and everyone who loved him. I hope Alan continues to recover, physically and emotionally.

Jhon deserved to come home safely. His family deserves justice.

MAN TRAPPED UNDER METRO TRAIN AT VIRGINIA SQUARE–GMU STATION

ARLINGTON, VA | OCTOBER 30, 2026

A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Friday morning after being struck by a Metro train at the Virginia Square–GMU station in Arlington.

According to Metro officials, the incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. when the man reportedly stumbled and accidentally fell onto the tracks as a train approached.

Arlington County Fire and EMS responded and successfully rescued him from beneath the train. He was transported to VHC Health for emergency treatment.

The incident temporarily suspended Orange and Silver Line service between Ballston and Clarendon. Shuttle buses were provided to affected passengers.

Metro Transit Police’s preliminary findings indicate the fall was accidental. There is currently no confirmed evidence suggesting it was intentional.

As of the latest reporting reviewed, no further update on the man’s condition has been confirmed.

My thoughts are with him and his loved ones. This is also a reminder of how quickly a dangerous situation can unfold on a Metro platform.

OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM NEEDS TO DO BETTER.

I’m disgusted by the outcome of the Krew Zaugg case in Idaho.

A 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted. Zaugg originally faced rape and lewd conduct charges, but a plea agreement reduced the case to a felony battery conviction. He was placed in a correctional rider program, with the possibility of probation.

And we’re supposed to call that justice?

We’re hearing about his promising future, his reputation, and his background as a former Mormon missionary.

WHAT ABOUT HER FUTURE?

Religion is not a shield from accountability. Being respected in your community doesn’t erase the harm you’ve caused.

This girl has to live with the trauma of what happened to her. Why does his future seem to matter more?

And look at the Cornell 7 case, where a young woman accused seven fraternity members of sexual assault, yet the initial criminal investigation ended without charges.

How many other survivors never receive justice? How many suffer in silence because they know the system might fail them?

Due process matters, but so do victims.

Justice should never depend on someone’s religion, reputation, or social standing.

Stop prioritizing offenders’ futures while survivors are left carrying the consequences.

OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM NEEDS TO DO BETTER.
