If you were to tell me 5 years ago that I would be traveling to the other side of the world to compete in my 3rd Ironman 70.3 world world championship I would have a hard time believing it. Not just because it’s the worlds but also because being on this side of the world has been a dream since I was about 8 years old 🙌❤️

Embracing each race for what they are positively and negatively is a process in itself. So let’s look at this one.

🏊‍♀️ I had an amazing swim in clear blue lake which is my absolute favorite areas to swim. It went quite well and I rushed out towards T1. The swim peelers made it an even better experience and I managed to get through transition quite easily ☺️

🚴🏽‍♀️ Fast in the bike I started pushing and attacked the hills as planned. I’m a climber by heart and I gained a fair enough of places here. Then the first downhill came around and as soon as I breaked I felt something was off as my rear tire slightly wobbled towards the side of the road whenever I hit the breaks. I got a bit of a scare there and it tok me a while to get myself up mentally as I carefully went down each hill other athletes flew past me. The plan was to give myself a tiny bit of slack on the flat section but I decided to hit it and really gain some time again. I continued to push, hit the basement but crawled up again and finished the ride with a smile 🥰

🏃‍♀️ Quick transition again and I started running and that feeling great 🙌 5km flew by and I started to feel my IT-band causing my outset right knee to cry. The painkillers helped a bit but I knew that I had to give myself some slack and slow down a bit. Two of my four gels had flew out of my pockets too so my nutrition plan got replanned. Even though it hurt I refused to walk and decided that if I wasn’t able to push as hard as I wanted to I would at least soak it up even more ☺️

It’s a special feeling running down that red carpet and hear your name as you cross the finish line! What an epic race 🔥

6.03.57 is this years magic number and I couldn’t have done it without my sponsors @escapetonsberg @siljessykkel Aasen Bygg, coach @eratonicole , friends, family and you all 🙏🏼❤️ by @yeahrightcaroline

I just realized I never shared my photos from the 70.3 World Championships in Lahti Finland in August this year 🤪 So here they are ☺️😇

I still feel extremely proud to have represented Norway again this year too and to finally get some payback from competing sick during last years championship 😆 Now I need to get my ass back into it cuz there’s less than a year to the worlds in New Zealand next year 🏊‍♀️🏃‍♀️🇳🇿💪

Thank you coach @ninierato for pushing me through yet another epic year 🫶🙌👊

6.21.17🏁
It’s been a week since my 70.3 world championship debut in St. George and it’s still unreal to think about 🤯🤩

I’m having a bit of a hard time putting words to this. Coming into this race I felt super strong and I was having the best season so far breaking one PR after the other💪
Excited as always and super happy to compete in a race beyond my wildest imaginations I ran into the water on race day🏊‍♀️I had been feeling a bit weird and off that same morning and as soon as I did my first swim strokes I knew this was not going to be the race I had envisioned. Realizing I had started to become sick I had to change tactic from I’m going to smash this to I’m going to finish this.
This feeling continued during the whole race getting worse by every minutes as it was super cold. I hit my lowest point halfway into the ride 🚴🏽‍♀️Luckily I had some pain killers on my bike (had a migrain some days prior) which helped a little (I zoomed in on a photo to show you how I felt). After digging extra hard the next 20km I managed to drag myself up a bit. But the bike was only the beginning of a very hard run a bit later. Focusing solely on strengthening my mind I managed to finish the hardest run snd race I have ever done. Even finishing off with a sprint🤩
My goal was a sub 5.30 which turned into a 6.21.17. It took every piece of me to finish this race! 227 place age group 30-34.

Is it my strongest and best race so far, like I dreamed off? Definitely not! Am I annoyed and frustrated by the fact that I couldn’t push myself to my limits, to achieve that amazing finish time, after all of my hard work, definitely yes!
BUT it is by far the best performance that I have ever done and without doubt the race I’m the most proud off. It might also come as a surprise to you all that I wouldn’t have changed this race for a better race and time even if it was handed to me on a silver plate! Simply because I have seen and learned what I am capable off, pushing myself beyond my wildest imaginations, digging deep.
Am I hungry for a payback? Hell yes! I’ll kick some ass in my next World Championship. Then I will be stronger than I ever have 💪 Because this is so on!!

Peace out ❤️ by @yeahrightcaroline

Randomness Thursday feeling great selfie post edition with some important facts and a sneak peek to 7 years ago 🤩

1) Just a random selfie 🤭
2) Me getting overexcited about that crazy hair being so long and wild ✌️
3) A TBT to 7 years ago when I was rocking the short hair 🙌

This is also a reminder to everyone that are either dreaming of cutting it short or have the audacity to try to tell others what to do with it and not:
Just do it! It’s just hair, it will grow back out again if you like it to, your hair is your choice not everyone else’s, and finally everyone should be able to rock the hairstyle they self want regardless of prejudices or society norms. If you are not asked then don’t puke out demoralizing hair opinions, period🤘

End note:
Do I like my hair now? Yes.
Will I most likely cut it all off again in the future? Hell yes cuz that felt amazing 😍🤩

Over and out. Now you beautiful people have an awesome day ❤️

Oslo - Göteborg day 6 final day ☀️

After some precious time @cykelhaket_trollhattan where the bike mechanic truly went out of his way custom making 2 spokes for my back wheel to ensure we could bike the last piece to Göteborg we finally set out on our last day. Bike, sun and cruising down towards our destination were on the plan 🤩

We started out reaching what seemed like the middle of nowhere before hitting a straight downwards road towards the city. On the way @nico_americo enjoyed some VIP first hand karaoke with the one and only me singing “on the road again” and “life is better on a bicycle, life is better on a bike”. As we got closer to the city the feeling of accomplishment hit us hard and man it felt great. I mean bikepacking teaches you so much about yourself and all the adventures on the way will stick with you for ages afterwards 😍

Now what’s our next adventure 🤔

Oslo - Göteborg day 5 😁
The day started quite good with live action of the lock system letting boats up the river but this was a special one as they built a water bridge back in 1865 crossing the main river (videos 5-6 + photo 7).

We quickly understood that this would be a windy day and with 13m/s of side and head wind the battle had begun 🙈😆 but at least there was sun and beautiful nature.

Then in the middle of nowhere halfway into our day I heard a noise coming from my bike. One of my spokes had decided to go on a solo trip and before we knew it the day changed.
After some unsuccessful attempt to hitchhike we eventually had to call a cab to take me to a bike shop at our destination of the day while @nico_americo continued the journey by bike.
A chat with my lovely cab driver and a bit at the bike shop the mechanic eventually had to drive to one of their other shops to retrieve a new spoke which will be fixed the day after.

As I was walking back with my bike towards the camping I couldn’t stop smiling as the freedom and adventure hit me hard. Man I love this life and I’ve missed it tremendously

Day 4 of this epic adventure and today we went from Lennartsfors to Håverud 🚴🏽‍♀️
It was suppose to be a short and cozy day but it ended up to be our longest day on the bike so far 💪

After a nice camping breakfast and some tire problem we started our day consisting of no adventures on gravel or pawed off roads. We cruised downwards on smooth asphalt passing lakes, forests, flowers, cute signs of attention of cats crossing and a rolling part with really steep hills. Add an extra 10kg to your bike and I promise you you have to sprint up those hills to even get up (result in the video 😆) Epic workout!

An ice cream stop resulting in our very own new murder of crows as a certain someone wanted to share a tiny piece of biscuit with one of them 😇😂 was also a part of the day.

There’s one thing I really want to point out though and that’s the Swedish drivers fantastic passing of cyclist! 99% of the time when we were overtaken they took full use of the opposite lane leaving us with comfortable space 🙌 A practice many drivers needs to learn!

After a day on the bikes it felt good to reach our hostel for the night which were situated in an old workers house. But don’t let the external fool you the inside was absolutely stunning (photo number 14) 😍

Now let’s see what day 5 brings us 😁

Oslo - Göteborg day 3, Töckfors to Lennartsfors 😁✌️

A bit of a slow start due to some social media handling 🤭 but we eventually cruised away for 10km before hitting approx 10km of pawed/gravel/tractor roads. At this point I’m absolutely impressed with my roadie off road abilities and I’m starting to think this should be introduced as a new sort of competition in this world.
I won’t lie though hitting the asphalt again felt euphoric. The last 20+km were pretty nice with some challenging head and side wind a long with a risky photo session (a certain someone 🙋‍♀️ thought placing the phone in the middle of the road for a photo was a great idea. Just check out the chaos in photo nr 9 🤣) we also had epic food, saw more lakes and appreciated some good designs 🥰

The accommodation for the night was sponsored by the 200kr found in a laundry room 😇

Oslo - Göteborg day 2 ☀️🚴🏽‍♀️
Lots of stunning Norwegian nature
Natural forests
The locks at Ørje letting the boats pass
Duckfilming as they forgot I was there
An important stop to take a photo of a font (but of course)
Border crossing in the forest into Sweden
Rerouting our trip due to highway action even though a Swedish man meant we could bike there
And an impulsive stay at a hostel

What a day 🤩

Summer holiday bike packer edition restarted today with @nico_americo ☺️
I’ve been wanting to go on a bike packer trip for years now so this is so exciting!

Originally we planned on doing Oslo - Trondheim but I experienced some issues with my bike rack which made us turn around on the way out of Oslo yesterday. But after some solid help at @birksport today 🙌 as well as some great catchup up with my previous colleagues at Birk ❤️ we were finally ready to start the trip. Although we decided to rerouted and rather go south to Göteborg instead of up north.

What an exciting first day we had. Sun, clouds and a tiny bit of rain. Koomoted gave us a detour on gravel roads althout it came with great views it also gave a lot of walking. The rain though was kinder than expected and the late night sun was absolutely beautiful! To finish up the day we ended up in this little cute ancient mini house/cabin for the night! 🥰 (I mean even the toilet was cute)!

Let’s see what tomorrow brings 😁

Once upon a time there was a unicorn imported from a race in from Spain named Arnt Roger Unihørn the 4th son of Odin the 6th king of the bathing rings and a lake. The rest is history 😂🤣🤣🤣

Thanks to Markus for capturing these masterpiece and for @akslot for joining it 🙌🤣
And in case you wondered, yes this is the unfiltered version of me 😆(that smile in photo nr. 4 says it all 😂)!
