@PeepingTomDance x @Numeridanse present: 𝙈𝙤𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙧 (2016)

In a set design that could represent several spaces, we observe not one mother, but many. “Moeder” investigates the subconscious to reveal what a mother carries around. Through fragments of memories, the boundaries between past and present begin to fade. A surreal exploration of motherhood, absence and the fears that come with it.

🦅When the Clarion Came to Call🪶 may be a solo on stage, but it’s held up by an extraordinary team behind the scenes.
@adamkaasa composed the music and sound score — an album of ballads that carry the Clarion’s voice through memory, rupture, and repair.
@srookwilliams designed the lighting, taking on the challenge not just of illuminating the stage but of turning the ceramic vessels themselves into sources of light — vessels that now speak through brightness and shadow.
@evamartinezmedina has been a trusted dramaturge and outside eye over the years, guiding the threads of story and structure.
@stephlmcm worked with me in the studio, researching for new ways of embodying the Clarion across its many chapters.
@lordham , a long-time collaborator, has shaped the aesthetic image — the hair, the makeup, the look of the Clarion.
And in these final stages, I’m joined by @yichungram , who is working with me on the physicality of the Clarion, helping to breathe life into the many characters the Clarion contains.

Though I stand alone on stage, When the Clarion Came to Call is a shared creation — woven together through many hands, eyes, and imaginations.

🎭 Premieres Oct 31 & Nov 1 at The Cockpit, London by @yichungram

CLOSE TO YOU (and think of the song)
Premiered 4 May 2024

One of the characters in this piece, who:
Has problems and/or issues with every women.
Everything is about me, of course.
I am Mr. Perfect, how can you say no to me.
Failure is not a word.
All about control. I can. I am.
Longly.
Fear to disappear… in a bin, with those garbage, those garbage people, useless garbages.
Fear of the end, what is waiting for him in the end is failure.

CLOSE TO YOU (and think of the song)
Premiered 4 May 2024
In this creation process I am thankful that we managed to bring somethings out of each one of us. We managed to shift perspective, without judgements and assumption. We managed to stay with the moment and let our feelings flow. We managed to externalise the internal world. We managed to be REAL. Because everything is theater, this whole world is a theater for politics and capitalism, we are playing our roll in it whether you like it or not. So at least, there is the possibility to choose to stay real with ourselves.~Yi-Chun 20.05.2024 by @yichungram

$💥Today is the premiere of: Close to you (and think of the song) Tanz X Physical Theatre by Yi-Chun Liu English Language with German Subtitles Premiere Mai 4th 2024 | 19:30 | Großes Haus Time seems to bend at a railway station: While a group of people wait, for a train or perhaps something else, their distinctive lives and stories start to merge and refract. With fascinating attention to detail, as if the choreography were zooming closer to and stretching the time experienced by them, their internal states, memories, hopes and fears are exposed. The contrast between these intimate worlds and the quotidian public setting creates a surreal counterpoint; normally this is a place in which emotions are restrained and hidden, but here ‘the station’ becomes a landscape of expression in unusual and particular ways. Paradoxically this makes us question the nature of this supposed venue of inexpressibility and makes us re-look at our own lives and those around us: how connected we are to others in everyday life even if we aren’t aware of it? Then an outsider arrives to call into question this separation between reality and representation. It is an evening that plays with temporalities, with the alternating between the internal and external and oscillates between surreal comedy and intense tragedy. Devised and performed by Gustavo de Oliveira Leite, Emma Jane Howley, Pin-Chen Hsu, Borys Jaźnicki, Rose Marie Lindstrøm, Maja Mirek, Jeff Pham, Magdalena Stoyanova, Omar Torrico Real Direction & Choreography Yi-Chun Liu Music Raphaëlle Latini @raphaellelatini Stage & Costume Design Sabina Moncys @sabina_moncys Light Design Kevin Weidlich Dramaturgy Caroline Rohmer Choreographic Assistance & Rehearsal Director Niv Melamed @niv.melamed Production Assistance Julia Rilling @juliavanessa Further Shows 12.5.2024 – 16:00 18.5.2024 – 19:30 2.6. & 23.6.2024 – 18:00 7.6.2024 – 19:30 More shows to be announced Photo by @bilshaus with Omar Torrico Real by @yichungram$
