Scorpion Handstand 🙄

Kapotasana is a battle between the mind’s need for control and the courage to surrender. Just like in life, we fear the unknown, hold on to what feels safe, and resist change. But growth begins when we learn to sit with discomfort, trust the process, and understand that fear doesn’t always mean we’re not ready; sometimes, it means we’re stepping into the unknown.

Consistency isn’t about being at your best every day. It’s about showing up, even when things don’t go as planned.

In the traditional Ashtanga Yoga practice, you begin learning tick-tocks towards the end of Intermediate Series. They require strength, mobility in the spine, and stability in the shoulders. You don’t simply add them to any practice.

First, you build strength through Primary Series and learn drop-backs. Then, throughout Intermediate Series, you develop deeper openness in backbends and forward bends. You’ve been preparing your body all along, one practice at a time.

And when the time comes to try tick-tocks, you may surprise yourself. You can do them because you’ve been building towards them every day. One practice at a time. by @yoga_with_chams

Progress is never accidental. It’s built through consistency, perseverance, discipline, and the right community around you.

A before & after of my scorpion handstand, a reminder that showing up, staying patient, and putting in the work will always pay off.
