What if looking back isn’t about returning to the past, but learning to see it differently? Retrogrades are often associated with delays, frustrations, and things going wrong. But they also offer an opportunity to pause, reconsider, and revisit experiences with a new perspective. As Venus and Mercury move retrograde through Scorpio and Libra, we’re invited to reflect on our relationships, values, desires, and the stories we tell ourselves. With Mercury meeting the Sun in Scorpio, we have an opportunity to consider what might be coming into focus—and what we are beginning to understand differently. In this class, we’ll explore the astrology of retrogrades and use our own experiences as a starting point for reflection. Rather than trying to predict what might happen or find meaning in every difficulty, we’ll practice recognizing recurring themes and asking what they might reveal. What is returning to your attention? What are you seeing differently now? Is there another perspective, a new understanding, or a different choice available to you? Together, we’ll explore how recognizing a pattern can open the door to responding differently. No astrology experience is necessary—just a willingness to look again, get curious, and listen for the message. 🗓️ 11/4 at 6:30pm 📍YOGA Garden 🔗 Registration link in bio by @yogagardenmpls

/// MAT PILATES - Weekly on Sunday Mornings! w/ Tricky Miki Mosman - Starts this Sunday, Sept. 20th Sunday mornings 10:30 - 11:30am Drop In or use your YG class pass www.yogagardenmpls.com Hello! I’m so excited to bring Mat Pilates to Yoga Garden on Sundays. Much like with your yoga practice, all you’ll need is a mat and willingness to work your core muscles as we dive into Pilates essentials. Miki discovered Pilates over 15 years ago and has been hooked ever since. What began as a personal practice quickly became a lifelong relationship with movement, strength, and body awareness. Her mat classes focus on building strong foundations through breath, alignment, and controlled movement. Miki believes Pilates should feel both challenging and supportive, and she loves helping students develop strength, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how their bodies move. ///// Link in bio ⚡️www.yogagardenmpls.com @yogagardenmpls @the_only_tricky_miki #listentogrow by @yogagardenmpls
What’s Happening in The GARDEN Dear YOGA Gardeners, As much as we all love the gardens at YOGA Garden I don’t think we’ve ever been more excited about them than now. I made a big decision and cut back the fiddle leaf fig tree. Its growth was top-heavy and it just seemed like it needed a little love. I was hesitant, they are notoriously picky. Initially it looked lopsided and funny. A bare stem that looked like a stick planted in terracotta. We knew it would likely take a couple months before we saw any growth. Low and behold, in about two weeks it produced 6 new leaves and two new stems. Everyone is excited about its growth! We check in on it, we talk about it and revel in its new bright green leaves. Totally unexpected and the sweetest thing ever. It’s such a gift to have community. I can only imagine what will happen when I bring the planted shoots in this fall. Always lots of opportunities for growth and connection at YG. We look forward to seeing you in the studio. Please Welcome Dr. Erin McFerson to ROAM Dear Friends and Travelers, Please put your hands together for the lovely Erin McFerson, we are so happy to have her joining ROAM! Erin has been a regular student and educator at YOGA Garden for over a decade. She’s our go-to chiropractor and most recently our Intro to Astrology teacher. Her monthly astrology classes have been insightful and so much fun. We thought she would be a fantastic addition to the Costa Rica retreat next winter: Dr. Erin McFerson believes that healing deepens when we learn to recognize the patterns that shape our lives. Whether those patterns show up in the body, our relationships, or the stories we tell ourselves, bringing awareness to them creates the opportunity for meaningful change. For the past eleven years, Erin has owned McFerson Chiropractic, helping people better understand the patterns influencing their health and well-being. Through AlignWell Astrology, she has expanded this work into astrology as another lens for reflection, awareness, and alignment. A lifelong traveler, Erin has lived abroad as an au pair in Italy and worked on farms across Ireland. These experiences deepened her appreciation for slowing down, staying curious, and seeing the world through different perspectives—values that continue to shape her teaching. Erin’s astrology classes are welcoming to all levels of experience. Rather than focusing on prediction, she teaches astrology as a reflective practice—one that helps us notice the patterns unfolding in our lives and discover how to move forward with greater intention. During retreat, as you explore physical alignment through yoga and Pilates, Erin invites you to explore alignment within your emotional and inner life. Together, we’ll create space to pause, reflect, gain clarity, and reconnect with the part of yourself that already knows the way forward. Kama: The Art of Pleasure & Connection What brings you pleasure? What do you desire? Where do you go to feel connected, nourished, and alive? In Vedic philosophy, Kama is one of the four Purusharthas—the aims of human life. Often translated as pleasure or desire, Kama encompasses much more than romantic relationships. It includes our capacity for enjoyment, beauty, connection, affection, and the experiences that make life feel meaningful and pleasurable. As Venus enters Scorpio and prepares to turn retrograde in October, we’re entering a period of reflection around relationships, bonds with others, desire, and the ways we seek harmony and peace. In this class, we’ll explore Kama through a Vedic lens and then bring the conversation into our own birth charts. We’ll look at where themes of pleasure and connection show up for us, using the chart as a tool for understanding our individual needs and desires. Rather than asking, “What does my chart say about my relationships?” we’ll explore deeper questions: What do I need in order to experience connection? Where do I seek pleasure and enjoyment? What helps me feel nourished and at ease? Where might my desires be asking to be better understood? Together, we’ll use astrology as a way to recognize the patterns around what we desire, what we value, and how we experience pleasure and connection. 📅 9/23 at 6:30pm 📍 YOGA Garden 🔗 Registration link in bio by @yogagardenmpls

/// Cucumber Salad and Community <3 Hello Dear YOGA Gardeners, I am pretty happy to have a counter full of cucumbers (plus one zucchini and heirloom tomato) fresh from my sister and brother-in-law’s garden. We were talking garden shop the other day before class and Meredith mentioned she had the perfect recipe for my bounty. I have dill in my garden to add to the mix and just picked up the rest of the ingredients at the co-op for dinner tonight. How fun to share gifts from our gardens. Community is key. And, if you find yourself with a boatload of cucumbers, open this weeks newsletter for a link to the recipe, thanks to Meredith! Love, Laurel & the YG Crew ***** TONIGHT!
