Another TCS Sydney Marathon Run Club run in the books.
Another week closer. Another confidence booster.
The last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Up, down, and back up again. That’s all part of the journey.
Grateful to have this crew alongside me for another burn around the city this morning. The kilometres always feel a little easier when you’re surrounded by good people chasing the same goal.
One step closer to the start line. One run closer to finding out what’s possible.
Can’t think of a better way to finish the weekend 🫶🏽

Always fun and games with this lot. 😅

The Bay Run served up another cracking sunrise, plenty of laughs, and just enough kilometres to shake the legs out before tomorrow’s long run. Funny how that 5am alarm feels a lot less painful when you know you’re turning up to good people and good vibes.

A couple of easy laps, a coffee, a few questionable photo poses, and suddenly the morning is won before most people have hit snooze.

Now it’s time to lock in for tomorrow’s long run. See you all at the TCS Sydney Marathon Run Club monthly run. Let’s go! 🏃‍♂️🔥

Different location, same intentions.

A few easy kilometres, a few good conversations and another chance to get 1% better while soaking up 100% vibes.

There’s something special about running a new route. Watching the sun wake up from a different angle, taking in unfamiliar views and sharing it all with a group of like minded people who never seem to struggle finding a reason to lace up.

It was also great to finally meet @rodneyong88. Something tells me we’ll be sharing plenty of miles together in the future.

Thanks to everyone at @sydneymuslimrunclub for the warm welcome as always. Looking forward to running the Bay with you all this Saturday 🙌🏽

Yesterday’s easy run turned into one of those nights that sticks with you 🌧️

Why? Because we had Youssef back with us and that alone made this one special.

The rain rolled in early but honestly that was the easy part. We’ve danced with bad weather more times than I can count. The real storm came later.

This was Youssef’s first run back after three weeks off with shin splints, so we already knew the road was gonna bite a little. He fought hard but around the 8km mark the pain started knocking, the lungs got heavy and the doubt crept into the passenger seat.

That’s when the banter turned into frustration.

Youssef kept telling us to go on ahead because he felt like he was slowing the group down, but that never sat right with me. We started together, we finish together. Simple as that. Besides, there was no chance I was leaving a brother alone in the dark battling his own thoughts and pain.

This wasn’t about pride. It wasn’t about ego. It was about brotherhood.

Funny thing is even after all the debating and back and forth over those final 2km, the second we crossed that finish line it was all smiles, laughs and high fives like none of it even happened 😂 because that’s what real ones do. We push, we clash, we care and then we keep moving forward together.

Because I know if the roles were reversed, he would’ve done the exact same thing for me. That’s the kind of person he is. Good people. Solid people.

One team. One love. One vision.
42.2km waiting for us at the end of August and we’re coming for it 🖤🏁

Sunrise miles around the bay, salty air in the lungs, smiles on every face and coffees earned the right way ☀️🏃‍♂️☕️
Weekends don’t get better than this with the SMRC crew. I’m not changing my mind.

It’s funny how running has given me so much life… but it’s the community that’s given me colour. 🎨✨

Yes, the @sydneymuslimrunclub is a run club but it’s also so much more than that. It’s laughter, it’s connection, it’s accountability, it’s purpose.

I appreciate every day, but days shared with this crew? They hit different. Extra special. 🤍🏃🏽‍♂️🌊

From the moment I rocked up and @youi_ak welcomed me with open arms (and even bigger laughs), I knew I was in the right place surrounded by a community I’ve missed so much!
One lap THIS TIME, but running next to my brother @the_bayrunner hit different. Feeling good, feeling positive, and officially stepping back onto the road to redemption.

I’m back baby!
Or as Smokin Joe would say… “Big D is in the house!” 🤣🤣🤣

Wheels are back on, full steam ahead.
