We’re youth at #emrc73 of course we’re part of the conversation! At the 73rd Session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, young people came together to share their perspectives, engage in regional health discussions, and advocate for a healthier and more equitable future. Through the voices of medical and pharmacy students representing IFMSA and IPSF, we highlight the importance of meaningful youth engagement in shaping health policies and strengthening healthcare systems across the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Because young people are not only the future of healthcare, but active contributors to the decisions shaping it today. by @youifmsa
Together for a healthier future: Action. Access. Equity. 🌍🩺 That was the theme of the 73rd WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, held in Cairo from 13 to 15 October 2026. Health ministers, experts, and accredited partners met to shape health policy across our region, and IFMSA was there for over 1.5 million medical students worldwide. Our delegation brought the theme to life: ⚡ ACTION: brought the young health workforce voice into ministerial debates and pushed for meaningful youth engagement 🚪 ACCESS: connected grassroots National Member Organization priorities with national health authorities ⚖️ EQUITY: advocated for protecting and retaining early-career health workers, and for resolutions on health financing and digital public infrastructure 👉 Swipe to meet the delegation and see what the EM Regional Committee was all about! by @youifmsa
A pink ribbon is where conventional awareness starts, but it cannot be where our commitment ends. How is your National Member Organization driving change this Pink October? From workshops to community advocacy walks, check out the upcoming SCORA Newsletter to discover how NMOs worldwide translated this campaign beyond awareness into meaningful, creative action. #BeyondTheRibbon #pinkoctober #breastcancerawareness by @youifmsa
The moment active medical treatment concludes, the world often expects survivors to immediately bounce back. But survivorship brings its own realities: long term fatigue, emotional distress, fear of recurrence, and the challenge of navigating life after diagnosis. Every chapter of the cancer journey deserves dignified, continuous support. #BeyondTheRibbon #survivorship #lifeaftercancer #pinkoctober by @youifmsa
Pink October is everywhere, but what lies beyond the ribbon? In 2024, an estimated 2.4 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer globally, and over 694,000 deaths were recorded. Yet the global conversation frequently stops at symbolic awareness and commercial pink ribbons, overlooking the structural disparities that determine who survives. This month, IFMSA invites you to look Beyond the Ribbon; advocating for health equity, survivor dignity, and meaningful access across every stage of the journey. #BeyondTheRibbon #pinkoctober #breastcancerawareness #survivorshipcare by @youifmsa
Open Access Week may be ending, but our commitment to openness continues! As we close #OAweek 2026, we celebrate IFMSA’s ongoing efforts to make scientific knowledge more accessible, reusable, and equitable for all. From contributing to the International Open Access Week Advisory Committee to advancing our policy documents and Open Licensing Procedures, we continue advocating for a world where knowledge can travel further and benefit everyone. Let’s build a movement where knowledge is created for everyone, shared with everyone, and used to benefit everyone. #OAweek by @youifmsa
Knowledge is global , but the costs and conditions of sharing it are not. From research infrastructure to publishing fees and academic recognition, each region faces different barriers and different opportunities to make knowledge more open and equitable. Open Access Week 2026 is here! 📚 Who pays for knowledge and who gets to benefit from it? This week, we’re looking beyond the paywall at the financial, human and environmental costs of research, and asking how we can make knowledge more accessible and equitable for everyone. #OAweek #Costofknowledge by @youifmsa

This World Mental Health Day, Are We Really Listening? Awareness matters, but listening should lead to action. Lived experiences deserve more than recognition. They should shape how we care, learn, and make decisions. Notice. Ask. Listen. Act. Because being heard should lead to meaningful change. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #IFMSA by @youifmsa
Young people are not only the future of global health, we are part of its present. IFMSA fills a specific gap in global health governance: connecting high-level policy with the generations that will implement, inherit, and be affected by those policies. IFMSA is present at a the World Health Summit 2026, taking place in Berlin, Germany. IFMSA delegation will represent the voices, perspectives, and priorities of the next generation of health professionals in global health discussions. Follow our journey throughout #WHS2026 as we connect, collaborate, and bring global health discussions closer to the communities we represent. by @youifmsa
