KAREEMAH 🤍

From the moment you walked into the STEP NOW Artist Development Programme in 2023, you lit up the room. Your energy, your smile, your presence… UNFORGETTABLE. Watching you grow through creating your song and then seeing you perform it live, surrounded by family and friends, was such a blessing. All the special moments shared on the programme with your peers and facilitators were moments filled with so much joy.

Even beyond the programme, our check-ins meant so much. You were a fighter, navigating life with courage, joy and honesty, always pouring love into others including me and especially your mum, your anchor.

Yesterday we celebrated your life, your strength and the impact you made. My prayers remain with your family, that God continues to give them comfort, peace and strength.

Kareemah you touched lives. You made an impact. You were a fighter. If we take anything from your life, let it be this: Keep going, keep shining, and keep believing in our light. Kareemah, you are the definition of a Young Black Shining Star and though you are no longer with us physically, your light has not gone out. It has simply risen higher.

✅ Day 7 – Day in the Life + YFM Radio Interview (with Nockus)

To wrap up an unforgettable week, we gave our artists a ‘Day in the Life’ experience, including a radio interview at YFM – one of Ghana’s top stations!

Learning how to handle press and connect with fans through media is just as important as the music. Remembering everything they learned from the media training with Amanda, our artists nailed it and they even got to perform their tracks live on air too! 💯

✅ Day 5 – Music Business / Mixing & Mastering / Recording Day 3 (with @_deveer & @c_biggzz )

“Talent is great – but the BUSINESS matters too! 💼”
Day 5 was about the MUSIC BUSINESS – royalties, publishing, contracts, and protecting your rights. Knowledge is power!

Then it was back to the studio for Mixing & Mastering techniques with Godwin & Biggz, followed by Recording Day 3 to bring the tracks to life.

The growth this week? Unreal.

“From the mic to the media – Day 4 was packed! 🎬🎛”
We started the day with Media Training – teaching artists how to shine in interviews and control their narrative. Then we dived into Production 101, breaking down beats, layering, and arrangements.

🎧 Finally, Recording Day 2 – the studio energy was electric as artists continued to lay down their tracks with the amazing @moniquelawz supporting them with Vocal Production 🔥

✅ Day 3 – Vocal Coaching (with @moniquelawz ) / Studio Etiquette (with @c_biggzz ) / Recording Day 1

Day 3 focused on vocal techniques, breathing control, and confidence on the mic, led by Biggz & Monique Lawz.

🔥 PLUS, we covered Studio Etiquette 101 – because how you show up in the studio can make or break your career.

Pro tip: Always come prepared and respect the creative process. 🙌

✅ Day 2 – Songwriting Camp (with Myx Quest)

“Two worlds, one room: FUTURE vs. NOSTALGIA! 🎶🔥”

Day 2 was our Songwriting Camp led by the incredible @myxquest at his studio, and we took creativity to a whole new level.

The challenge?
✅ Write ONE futuristic song
✅ Write ONE nostalgic song

But first, we asked the big questions:
💭 What makes a song feel nostalgic? Is it the chord progressions? The instrumentation? The storytelling?
💭 What makes a song futuristic? Is it the sound design? The structure? The vibe?

After an amazing group discussion breaking this down, the Artists got to work – and guess what? They created TWO incredible songs: one futuristic, one nostalgic. The contrast was mind-blowing and showed how versatile these Artists are. 🏆

The energy in that room? UNREAL! 💥

The Artists also learned about business side of things when it comes to collaborating. The team delved into Ownership & Splits, Publishing Rights, Master Rights, Royalties, Agreements, Credits and Release & Distribution! 📝

All in all, a VERY productive day! 🏆
