Sauce: Love Tractor/ Tractor Loaded with Love by Hmmyongyong, art by Angrymonster Chapters: 80 chapters Status: Completed Tags: Slice-of-life, comedy, romance, countryside, R-15 Jiejie-Gege’s rating: 10/10 Synopsis: Sun Yool makes a break to his grandfather’s place in the country after the city life wears him down with family obligations, a bad break up and the stress of pursuing a career path he was forced to take up. I love this one so much, I personally have a soft spot for countryside romances and this did not disappoint. The protag is burnt out from life and runs away from the city for some peace and quiet. But, he quickly finds himself in the middle of comical misunderstandings starting with his young neighbor, Yechan and all sorts of shenanigans that happen in their small village. I enjoyed the slow pacing of this story so much, because it really does feel like a breath of fresh air. The story focuses on the individual growth of the mcs so well, and I loved seeing that. It wasn’t any of the sort that goes love heals all or the like. We see Sun Yool heal and grow in the new environment while pursuing his passion and dreams one at a time. The romance takes its time to develop (I mean literal years) so the story does progress slowly, but if you’re okay with that, please do pick this one up! There is a short kdrama adapted from this manhwa which is super cute though, I definitely prefer the manhwa but the drama is cute by itself! #lovetractor #blreview #blmanhwarecommendation by @yourlaodaisgae
OMG IT'S HUAHUA'S BIRTHDAY, IM SO GLAD I DECIDED TO COME ONLINE HERE TODAY 😭 by @yourlaodaisgae
Sauce: Pittosporum by Mikami Shino Manga volumes: 5 (need to check chaps) Status: Ongoing Tags: Romance, high school, trauma, angst, yaoi Jiejie-Gege's rating: 10/10 for vol 1 (others TBA) I don't think there's any other story that's so fitting as a recommendation for the importance of needing Pride in our lives. Pittosporum tells the story of a sweet, agreeable boy named Hisaya Yano navigating his dorm life with his hypersexual roommate Sono Odajima who keeps breaking curfew by bringing random girls into their room. Despite Odajima seeming like the typical annoying manwh0re of a male lead, there's so much more to his character which deeply explains why he seems to be so troubled. I don't remember anything in detail because I read this two years ago but the story was so intense and impactful, it stayed with me all this while with me so do check it out yalls. I love this one because it shows just how damaging heteronormativity can be and it feels so real because there are so many people living through this reality with the thoughts that run in Odajima's head. The visual storytelling is also very smart and easy to follow which I enjoyed so much. I'm a big fan of "show not tell" in manga/hua/hwa and loved Pittosporum for doing exactly that. It's a happy ending, don't worry. I promise you it's not a typical high school romance story. You can get through it in one sitting, I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Happy Pride once again 🌈🎉 (at the time of uploading, I just found out there are 5 VOLUMES OUT, HELLO WHAT, I AM GOING TO READ OMG, THE REVIEW ABOVE IS SOLELY FOR VOL 1) #pittosporumbl #blmangarecommention #happypride #pridemonthblrecommendations #yaoi #blmanga #boyslove by @yourlaodaisgae
