AUTUMN 2023 BEAUTY SECRET #1~ Learn about our stunning Natural World--what surrounds us effects our lives, moods, and habits whether we realize it or not.

The changing seasons are a way to identify how to live according to the beautiful world that is our home.

The first day of fall in the Northern Hemisphere is Saturday, Sept. 23 this year. The fall equinox will specifically happen at 2:50 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. From there, the Northern Hemisphere will get less direct light from the sun, and it will get chillier by the week.

Although the first day of fall doesn’t attract quite the modern celebrations that the spring equinox and the summer solstice do, the ancient Mayans really played it up: At Chichén Itzá on the Yucatán peninsula, the Pyramid of Kukulkán (also known as El Castillo) is a pyramid with 365 steps—that’s one for each day of the year. On the fall and spring equinoxes, a shadow appears on the pyramid’s surface that looks like a serpent descending the steps toward a stone head at the bottom.

At the moment of the equinox, when the sun’s rays are concentrated on the side of the earth, the sun is directly above the equator. Fall in the Northern Hemisphere begins just as the earth progresses a little bit farther on in our orbit—the sun’s radiation then focuses more on the Southern Hemisphere (where spring begins) and keeps bathing the earth’s southern half in extra light until the next equinox, in March. by @yourskinadvisor

SUMMER 2023 BEAUTY SECRET #8~

SURPRISE YOURSELF with STUNNING SKIES

We often look outdoors through our windows, yet how often do we just concentrate on the movement and varied colors of the sky above us?

Skies tell us stories about current and future weather conditions including rain, wind, and sunshine. Do you take heed of the sky when looking around you? Or do you disregard its nature message to you?

How many times have you left your umbrella at home, or in the car, thinking "I bet it clears up" only to be drenched by a downpour minutes later?

Overcast skies can also fool us into not applying our essential spf 15 Zinc Oxide-based SUNSCREEN. My, isn't your face/body red now?

A hat, sunscreen, lip protector, and aloe vera gel are basics in my SURVIVAL TOTE and should be in yours, along with a cool water thermos, and small snacks for beach/desert/mountain/river/lake/ etc. destinations.

Be prepared by taking our beautiful SKIES seriously. by @yourskinadvisor

SUMMER 2023 BEAUTY SECRET #7~
YOUR SURROUNDINGS CAN BE YOUR MEDITATION

Especially during the warm Summer Season, it is beneficial to explore your nearby surroundings, as well as going on a short excursion to a place of natural beauty and peacefulness.

Breathing in the fresh air, away from crowds and pollution, will feed your lungs with fresh oxygen, be a delight for your vision (both inner and outer), and re-set your happiness level.

Take time for some exploration during these last weeks of Summer and be surprised by the profound effect it will have on your mood and outlook.

Meditation does not have to be limited to a quiet room or personal space Expand your idea of a place where you feel whole and enlightened. by @yourskinadvisor

SUMMER BEAUTY SECRET #6~
SAVOR THE COLORS OF SUMMER

All the four Seasons have their unique colors. It's important to appreciate and savor the colors of skies, seas, rivers, streams, wildflowers, gardens and natural landscapes.

How we spend our time in Nature is vital to our health, our well-being in mind and body, and our understanding of the Earth and how we fit into the scheme of the environment.

Wishing you a delightful weekend, free to roam and find your special spot to admire, appreciate and grow in knowledge of how to preserve our precious Earth. by @yourskinadvisor

SUMMER BEAUTY SECRET #5~ BEYOND THE SEA 🌊
SUN SAFETY TIPS 💥

As gorgeous and tempting as spending the day along the coast, next to the sea is, consider with care how you are going to stay protected from the elements of sun and wind.

Protected with a non-nano SPF 15 Sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses and Hat--they are very important for bringing along on any sunny excursion...even if the sun doesn't feel very warm or especially bright.

Overcast weather is usually the most damaging since we're under the false impression/hope that clouds will screen us from any burns or windburn.

Taking along a cute beach bag, and hopefully able to take freezer packs or ice will be of great help in keeping things cold and can provide cool water if necessary.

Thermos with ice water is highly recommended to not only drink in moderation but use as a first aid tool to cool down sunburned skin. Pour over a little at a time over a wide area and do not concentrate the icy water in one place.

And Please, Do NOT apply any compress or cool towel (paper or cloth) to the affected area(s). The fragile red/pink skin may ADHERE to the cloth/paper and would be dangerous to the victim by lifting off layers of hot 🔥 skin. Place a cool compress over victim's eyes to calm and offer cool water to quench any thirst or anxiety.

SUMMER BEAUTY SECRET #4~ GET OUT INTO NATURE TO THRIVE

How many of us live near a beautiful beach, mountain range, forest, desert, lake, river, or meadow?

If we are lucky enough to live close to any natural elements, then, making time to feast our eyes, clear our lungs with fresh oxygen, walk their paths, and savor the beauty and majesty of Mother Nature is highly recommended.

Not only will we feel refreshed and renewed, but our spirits can soar and realize there is only one way to always feel this way--open our minds, hearts, and souls to the wisdom of the Earth, and work to preserve it. by @yourskinadvisor

SUMMER 2023 BEAUTY SECRET #3~

SUMMER 2023 BEAUTY SECRET #2~ APPRECIATE NATURE as ART of the HIGHEST ORDER

Often with all our distractions as humans we see and enjoy Mother Nature, yet often, we do not recognize the brilliance of her artistic nature.

Take time this weekend to really look, examine and appreciate not only the incredible patterns, colors, variety, strength and delicacy of plants, but also recognize the benefits of the soil they grow in and the nourishment they provide to the environment, both visually and practically. by @yourskinadvisor

SUMMER 2023 BEAUTY SECRET #1~

My professional RECS to LIMIT Sun Damage throughout this season of heat and extra sun exposure.

Please use CAUTION when applying Essential Oils to your skin. Quite a few, especially those from the CITRUS family can be PHOTO-TOXIC and cause reactions like rashes and irritation plus, unfortunately, long-lasting PIGMENTATION SPOTS which are very difficult to remove as well as being prone to return even after fading.

Please review this great chart and become familiar with the oils and their properties. I personally would DISCOURAGE the use of essential oils completely when sunbathing or being in the sun more than 15 minutes.

Be safe, cautious and protected for a carefree and pleasant Summer Sun Experience. Avoid products containing essential oils and utilize a non-nano Sunscreen of at least 15 SPF and remember that SHADE and a wide-brimmed HAT are your FRIENDS. by @yourskinadvisor

SPRING 2023 BEAUTY SECRET #11~ EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

Our minds are powerful, sometimes stronger than we perceive. Our physical and emotional needs often take precedence. Our MINDS then must go through a process of analysis, recognition and resolution.

Let your MIND be open to possibilities you may have never considered...let your mind wander a bit by observing the often-unexpected beauty of Nature.

May your impressions be the gateway to new possibilities, new hopes, new dreams, new successes, and new fulfillment.

SPRING 2023 BEAUTY SECRET #10~
KEEP HYDRATED as the WEATHER WARMS UP

This is one of my favorite combinations to make up a glass or two and keep in a cooler until it chills.

I prefer keeping the mix undiluted in a glass or thermos to the practice of adding ice which dilutes the flavor and chills the body.

The body prefers to keep its equilibrium and so likes to be cool (and calm), not hot and dry, OR chilly and clammy.

This great drink is EASY to take with you as a healthy ALTERNATIVE to sugary and icy drinks. by @yourskinadvisor
