🐾 About YPAP

We’re a non-profit, volunteer-run team supporting the Yongin Animal Protection Association (YAPA), a city-affiliated, no-kill rescue in South Korea. We rescue dogs from the pound’s euthanasia list and provide them with safety, care, and love at the Tierheim shelter, while promoting domestic and overseas adoptions for larger and mixed-breed dogs, who often have fewer chances in Korea.

🐕 Our Shelter
The Yongin Tierheim cares for around 350 dogs, each waiting for their forever home. Our weekly walking volunteer program helps them gain confidence and socialize, while donations provide medical care and preventive treatment for sick and elderly dogs.

🩷 미니 진도믹스, 여 (중성화 O), 11kg, 2020년생

Over the last three months in foster care, this sweet girl has completely blossomed! 🌸 She is a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she is incredibly gentle, loves playing with her toys 🧸, and has already mastered so many cute tricks! 🐾

The outside world is still a bit scary, but she gets braver every day.

After 5 long years in a shelter, Coco is finally learning what love feels like. Now, she just needs a family to call her own. Hopefully, she won’t have to wait much longer. 🥹

Everyone, meet Coco (FKA Echo)!
❤️ Approx. 11kg
❤️ Born in 2020
❤️ Waiting for a family since February 2021
❤️ Calm, sweet, gentle, loyal
❤️ Jindo mix

Coco was found wandering the streets alone as a tiny 2.5 kg puppy. 🥹💔 After spending 5 long years in a shelter, this gentle girl is finally learning what love feels like.

Coco is shy at first, but once she feels safe, she's a calm, sweet and curious girl. Earlier this year, she moved into foster care and is adjusting beautifully to home life. At 11 kg, she's the perfect size for almost any home. Her foster mum describes her as an incredibly quiet, easygoing girl who is happy to nap while home alone and always greets her with excitement, zoomies, and requests for her favorite neck scratches. 🐶💕✨

Coco is very smart and learns quickly. She already knows commands like sit, touch, paw, and high five. She also absolutely LOVES, LOVES, LOVES playing with her toys. 🩷🧸

Coco is happiest in a calm, peaceful home. While she's confident in familiar places, busy or unfamiliar environments can still feel overwhelming. Sudden loud noises and young children may startle her, so she'd thrive in a patient home with older children who can help her continue building confidence. With gentle encouragement and time, she's becoming braver every day.

What we love most about Coco is her gentle, well-mannered nature. She doesn't ask for much and is happiest simply being with her people, whether she's relaxing by your side or faithfully supervising your bathroom visits. 🤭🥰

After waiting far too long for a family of her own, Coco is ready to find her forever home. ❤️

If you think Coco could be the perfect addition to your family, please send us a DM, and we'll help you get started with the adoption process. 🏡💛

Everyone, meet Denver!
❤️Approx 20kg
❤️Estimated birth year 2018
❤️Waiting for a family since August 2019
❤️Friendly, gentle, energetic
❤️Jindo mix

Denver is a Jindo mixed boy who has spent the last 7 years waiting for a family of his own. Now around 8 years old, we're hoping his forever family is finally just around the corner. 🥹💔

Denver is a sweet, affectionate, and energetic boy who loves spending time with our volunteers. He gets very excited for his walks and may pull a little at the start, but that's only because he's so happy to get out and explore! 🐕✨

He loves people, enjoys attention and kisses, and has a playful personality that makes him a joy to be around. 🐶💕 He does well with both men and women and doesn't seem bothered when other dogs pass by on walks.

It's hard to believe such a friendly and loving dog has been waiting for so many years. Denver deserves a family of his own and a chance to experience life and love beyond the shelter. 🏡💛

If you'd like to adopt Denver, please send us a DM and we'll help you get started with the adoption process~

Everyone, meet Eloise!
❤️Approx 16kg
❤️Estimated birth year 2019
❤️Waiting for a family since August 2021
❤️Gentle, calm, shy
❤️Jindo mix

Eloise is a sweet 7 year old girl who arrived at our shelter in August 2021. She was found wandering the streets all by herself, and when she first came to us, she was understandably very scared and unsure of people. Her intake notes mentioned that she was wary of anyone approaching her and did her best to protect herself from those trying to help. She must have been feeling so frightened and overwhelmed. 🥺

Over the years, Eloise has shown us just how resilient and wonderful she truly is. 🤍 Little by little, she has learned that people can be kind, and watching her build confidence and trust has been one of the greatest joys. These days, she would approach gentle pets, enjoys spending time with familiar people, and lets her sweet, calm personality shine through. ✨

While Eloise can still be a little shy around new people, she warms up quickly once she realizes you're a friend, especially if you happen to have some yummy treats. 😆🍖

If Eloise can make this much progress in a shelter environment, just imagine how much she could thrive in a loving forever home. 🏡🐾
Eloise is looking for a gentle family who can continue showing her that the world is a safe and happy place. If you would like to adopt Eloise, please send us a DM and we'll help you get started with the adoption process~

Everyone, meet Jamie!
❤️Approx 25kg
❤️Estimated birth year 2019
❤️Waiting for a family since August 2021
❤️Calm, gentle,
❤️Jindo mix

Jamie is a sweet and handsome boy who will be turning 7 years old soon. 🥺🤍 After 5 long years of shelter life, we’re really hoping his forever family is finally just around the corner. He is a red-tan Jindo mix who arrived at the shelter back in August 2021 after being found wandering the streets alone. He didn’t have a microchip, and when he was brought in, the staff noted how incredibly happy and friendly he was despite everything being unknown and scary. 💛

Jamie is truly the best big boy out there! 🦊 While he may be a larger dog, he has such a gentle and easygoing personality. He loves treats and is always happy to spend time with people. Jamie is also a very handsome boy who confidently heads out on walks and enjoys exploring new sights and smells. 🐕

One of the loveliest things about Jamie is how calm, relaxed and positive he is. He has such gentle and wholesome presence that makes people instantly fall for him. 🥹 If you’re looking for a big handsome companion to share your life, adventures, and cuddle time with, Jamie might just be your perfect match. 💕

Jamie is looking for a loving forever family who can give him unconditional love, fun adventures, and cozy cuddles for the rest of his life. If you would like to adopt Jamie, please send us a DM and we’ll help you get started with the adoption process~

Everyone, meet Ace!
❤️Approx 20kg
❤️Estimated birth year 2020
❤️Waiting for a family since June 2021
❤️Shy, calm, sweet
❤️Jindo mix

Ace is a 20kg male mixed breed (Jindo, maybe even a little Shiba Inu 🥹🐕) who arrived at our shelter back in June 2021. He was found wandering the streets wearing a collar, so we checked for a microchip and hoped his family would come looking for him. Sadly, no one ever did.💔 Ace has now been waiting at the shelter for almost 5 years… far too long for such a sweet boy. 🥺

Ace is a delightfully wholesome pup who can be a little shy at first, but you can tell he really wants to come over and say hello. 💕 When he first arrived, he was much more timid, but over time he has worked so hard to open up to us and adjust to shelter life.

These days, Ace gets sooo happy when we come to say hi, especially if we have yummy treats with us! 🍖 He does the cutest airplane ears and helicopter tail wag. His big round eyes are impossibly sweet, and once he spends some time with you and feels safe, you can see what a soft, gentle soul he really is. 💕

Ace would love a forever family who can shower him with love and help him continue building confidence at his own pace. He just needs someone kind and patient to be his safe person in life. 💛 If you’d like to adopt Ace, please send us a DM and we’ll help you get started with the adoption process~ ✨

Everyone, meet Bon!
❤️Approx 14kg
❤️Estimated birth year 2021
❤️Waiting for a family since May 2022
❤️Friendly, affectionate, smart
❤️Mixed breed

Bon is a male mixed breed boy, possibly a Lab or Golden mix, who has been at the shelter for almost four years now 🐶💛. He’s such a friendly, gentle soul, and somehow he’s still waiting for someone to notice him.

Bon gets along well with both people and other dogs, and he has a naturally sweet, easygoing personality. He’s not overly energetic, but he does enjoy his walks, some playtime, and of course plenty of cuddles. He’s very affectionate and especially loves to nuzzle and climb all over our human volunteers just to show his big, loving heart 🥰.

He’s also a smart cookie. Bon already knows how to sit and give paw, and he’s responsive to training, especially when treats are involved. He loves snacks and is always happy to learn when there’s a reward waiting for him 🍪✨.

Bon has been waiting far longer than he ever should have. After all this time, he’s more than ready to finally experience the warmth of a loving home and a family he can call his own forever 🏡💛. He would do well in a home that can offer him regular walks, companionship, and plenty of love. With his friendly nature and willingness to learn, he’ll make a loyal and cuddly companion for someone very lucky.

If you’d like to welcome Bon into your heart and home, please send us a message and we’ll help you get started on the adoption process 💌🐾

Everyone, meet Harris!
❤️Approx 20kg
❤️Estimated birth year 2021
❤️Waiting for a family since August 2022
❤️Gentle, cautious, calm
❤️Jindo mix

Harris is a 5 year old male Laika mix who was found wandering the streets with his mom, Aria, and came to our shelter in August 2022 🐾 When he first arrived, he was skinny and very shy, but even then, his gentle nature was clear. Since then, he has grown into a handsome boy and slowly become more comfortable with the world around him.

Harris is calmer and more cautious than his mom, often taking his time to quietly observe new people and unfamiliar surroundings before feeling safe 🥹 Once he builds trust, his softer, curious side begins to show. He really enjoys his walks, taking in the fresh air and of course, treats along the way 🍪🐾 He’s very food motivated, already knows how to sit, and will wait politely for snacks, while generally staying calm and unbothered around other dogs.

He is still with Aria and clearly relies on her for comfort and guidance, often following her lead like a true mama’s boy. Because of this, we think he may do well with a doggy sibling in his future home 🐶💛 Harris is a quiet, thoughtful boy who needs a little patience and a gentle environment to truly come out of his shell, and with the right person, we believe he will grow into a loving companion.

If you’d like to give Harris the safe and loving home he’s been waiting for, please send us a DM and we’ll be happy to help you get started on the adoption process 💌🐾

Everyone, meet Aria!
❤️Approx 18kg
❤️Estimated birth year 2020
❤️Waiting for a family since August 2022
❤️Gentle, cheerful, easygoing
❤️Laika mix

Aria is a beautiful female Laika mix who was found wandering the streets with her son, Harris, wearing an old worn collar and a rusty chain. They came to our shelter together in August 2022 🐾

Aria is a gentle, loving soul who adores people. She’s very comfortable with humans, happily greeting volunteers and even saying hello to strangers on walks, which really shows how trusting and kind she is 💛 She’s also easygoing and happy with the simple things like a nice walk, some treats, and just being near her people.

She can get a little excited, especially when there’s attention or snacks involved 😄 and it’s all part of her charm. She’ll follow you around, show off her best smile, and sit sweetly, hoping for a treat. Even with her little bursts of excitement, she settles nicely and stays calm around people and barking dogs, sometimes choosing to lie down and enjoy a quiet brushing or a bit of sunbathing ☀️🐶

Aria is also a quick learner, especially when treats are involved. She’s ready for a forever home where she can finally settle in and share all the love she has to give, and would make a loving and cheerful companion for someone very lucky 🏡💛

If you’d like to welcome Aria into your home, please send us a DM and we’ll be happy to help you get started on the adoption process 💌🐾
