1 year of sobriety - discovering my selfishness & uncovering the divinity within me Sobriety for me once started as a personal pursuit to become my best self On the outside at this point in my life, I worked for & started to achieve everything that I set out to do My identity since I dropped out of college had always been to prove to my former self that I can achieve anything I set out to do, even if my path was different I wanted to hit 6 figures in income. Travel the world. Hit the clubs & designer stores. Work MY way up to show that I was the hardest worker in the room. Proving to old me that I was who I said I was. Proving to everyone else I had it going on I would hit goals. Celebrate. Turn up. Party on the weekends. Repeat. When I started to see alcohol holding me back from hitting even higher levels & seeing it destroy things in close proximity to me, I gave it up Partly for others - but looking back there was a lot more % of myself wrapped up in that decision Initially, being free from the immediate downsides helped me to hit new levels Less money spent. More focus time to build things up for myself. Until there was one day I realized about 3 months into this new journey that no matter how hard I worked, there was still a void I lacked purpose. I was disconnected from my divine power. I had a very strong realization that my life is a gift to God & that what I do with it is a gift back What I couldn’t see in my world clouded in selfishness & substance was the part of me that was external. That guided the missions & values for my life that extend greater than myself. The intangibles I want discussed when I’m no longer here Months 4,5,6 & beyond was a journey to uncover the divinity that gave me meaning outside any personal pursuit And while I’m very ambitious & will continue to set audacious goals My life today, 365 days later, is being lived no longer for me So anything you see me do, is just a reflection a bigger purpose to help humanity uncovers the divinity that lies within them And using the world as we know it to help get there through all endeavors of life Thank you for letting me share @og_paradisee by @zachh.mcbride
To the marathon I say this.. 26.2 miles held a deep void within myself, knowing it was something I walked away from two years ago. This distance elicited much fear when considering whether or not I can take it on. I didn’t think I possessed within myself what it took to complete. Running never came easy to me. I never knew where to start. I couldn’t log 0.5 miles without being completely out of breath. Step after step on the road today, I was reminded of those moments, but this time I was able to look back from a different perspective. This time far from fearful. But with the utmost confidence to run this race, and run it well. The only change between year 0 and year 2, was the belief that I could And the daily action and extreme accountability to back up that belief What I found today, was just another reminder that nothing we want to do or achieve is on demand The results usually come from periods of being lost, a lack of belief & then finding ourselves again What I found through this training was joy in the mundanity The boring 3 miles that were so easy not to do. Having to go to sleep earlier in the night to get a good nights rest daily. Eating the same boring foods every single day. Spending time stretching and recovering, which is also boring in mundane. I found join in that mundanity because it was just another reminder that you are here. Present. Working toward your goal. Our “pursuit of” typically makes us forget the everything in between But everything in between makes up the story of our life And achieving the goal is just proof that you did the work. The day of achievement will come and go, but the steps it took to get there make up who you are and continue to. That’s what lasts a lifetime. Be + Do = Have (tej dosa) “Becoming” only is possible through you seeing yourself as one able to “Doing” requires accountability from you when no one’s looking, embracing the mundanity daily, and not skipping steps With this, you find what’s already yours And let me tell you it’s better than you can imagine. 3:20:00 - New Marathon PB Coming for the Boston Qualifier next year 🏁 The marathon continues. by @zachh.mcbride
May 20 is officially the best day of my life 🤍⁣ ⁣ ⁣ I truly can’t wait to spend forever loving my best friend. Your girl is a FIANCÉ 😭 by @zachh.mcbride
As much as we’ve tried to show her the world, she’s helped us see it differently in many ways. The little things we walk past she stops for. Ordinary days are always adventures. Getting to watch someone experience life for the first time is something I’ll be forever grateful for. There is indeed magic at Disney by @zachh.mcbride

the art of loving. 9 years in, still studying the fine print. i keep getting caught in the details. by @zachh.mcbride
I remember staring into the depths of the ocean making out these figures as they got closer & closer. In that moment I couldn’t help but admit “this is better than I thought.” The exact opposite of what I’d expected to say as I grew up deathly afraid of the ocean. Now I can’t imagine my life without it. Which made me begin to think a lot about fear. I guess the fear wasn’t the ocean itself, just the story I was telling myself about the ocean. Until I challenged my own story. And once I did, it was indeed better than expected. And indeed every outcome is not guaranteed, but as long as we are here I believe it’s only right to test the storys we tell ourselves. So everytime that feeling of fear comes up I use it as an invitation to challenge the stories I tell myself. Thank you to my dear sharks for this life lesson. Happy Shark Week 🦈 by @zachh.mcbride

birthday wishes to the mrs. by @zachh.mcbride
There was a part of me for a very long time that had a hard time believing I deserved love. Greatly aware of my own imperfections & shortcomings. Yet year after year since the age of 16, Ashley’s made it known that even through the messiness of life. And the weight of each others emotions, heart breaks, loss & struggles.. That I’m loved & I’m chosen. Even in the moments I’ve embarrassed myself too many times to count. When my eyes felt too heavy with tears. Too shameful to even look myself in the mirror. She has picked my head up so many times and has said the same thing…”you know I still love you right?” That pat on my back channeled enough strength to make me so brave. To keep going without ever feeling judged. Love built without a single condition. When I looked ar her & cried. I felt Gods love. Because I know I’m broken, yet he still gave me Ash. by @zachh.mcbride
