Engaged Couples!

Avoid this one BIG wedding mistake…

Do not wait to book a professional wedding videographer.

A lot of couples see a professional wedding film as a luxury, wheb in fact it's more essential than almost any other consideration. Couples say “Let’s book everything else first and then see if we have money left for video.”

Spoiler Alert!
They never have money left over. All too often, couples start suffering from so much expense fatigue and budget burnout that they feel they have to make all their wedding day compromises on video.

Don’t let that happen to you. If you value having a high quality wedding film of one of the most important days of your life, then as soon as you book that venue and you have a date, reach out to me and book Zach Thomas Films.

It's too important not to!

What about after your wedding day??? The value of a wedding film from @zachthomasfilms is immeasurable! by @zachthomasfilms

by @zachthomasfilms

I’ve heard it said that wedding films all look the same.

My response? Well…it’s a wedding. 😂

There are similarities because weddings are built around the things that matter most: love, family, friendship, commitment, and beauty.

But every couple brings something uniquely their own to the day. That’s why I take time to get to know my couples. Their wedding film should capture more than what happened—it should capture who they are together.

Spencer and Lydia are a perfect example. Their wedding film is filled with humor, heart, and plenty of unexpected moments—from the first-look fakeout to handwritten vows. Featuring Spencer’s boss and personal friend, DJ Jason Huggins with Stylus Events!

I was especially moved when Spencer included his soon-to-be stepdaughter in the ceremony by reading vows to her as well as his bride.🥹

That’s the kind of story I love capturing as a Raleigh NC wedding videographer—the moments that make each couple’s wedding uniquely theirs.

And once again, an incredible vendor team made it all come together beautifully!

Sarah & Conor’s wedding day was filled with the kind of moments that make a wedding film special—the anticipation, the emotion, the laughter, the family connections, and the simple joy of two people celebrating with the people closest to them.

Their relationship has its own “meant to be” story, having unknowingly crossed paths years before they ever met. But on their wedding day, it was clear that the focus was exactly where it should be: on each other, their families, and the people who came together to celebrate them.

And what an incredible team made it all happen.

A special shoutout to Gabriella and the entire @whitetieplanner team for being absolutely amazing planners. Their attention to detail, organization, communication, and ability to keep everything moving smoothly made such a difference throughout the day.

And they were surrounded by an equally outstanding group of wedding professionals. From the beautiful setting at Pine Hill Pavilion, to the photography, florals, hair and makeup, DJ, and all the behind-the-scenes coordination, every vendor played an important part in creating a relaxed and unforgettable celebration.

That seamless teamwork allowed the day to unfold naturally—and gave everyone the opportunity to simply enjoy the moments as they happened.

This teaser is just a small glimpse of Sarah & Conor’s wedding day. There’s plenty more to come from this beautiful Raleigh wedding!

Kinslee & Dillon 🤍🎥

Their wedding day at High Rock Events was filled with everything that makes a wedding memorable—family, friendship, laughter, emotion, and plenty of personality. From their playful Carolina vs. Wolfpack rivalry to the deep connection they share with their families, this was a celebration that felt completely true to them.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was Kinslee’s relationship with her mom, Heather. Heather’s special message to her daughter added another deeply personal layer to an already emotional wedding day. ❤️
I’m especially grateful for the incredible vendor team that worked together so seamlessly to make the entire day flow. Great wedding films happen when great vendors communicate, collaborate, and give each other room to do what they do best.
This is just the beginning of Kinslee & Dillon’s story. There’s much more to come. 🎬

❤️‍🔥 100+ degrees outside, but absolutely nothing was going to stop Tabitha & Russell from celebrating their love. ❤️‍🔥

Their wedding day at Donovan Manor was filled with everything that makes a wedding unforgettable—genuine emotion, plenty of laughter, beautiful details, incredible people, and two best friends officially beginning the next chapter of their lives together.

From meeting in Charleston and hitting it off almost immediately, to building a life centered around love, adventure, family, friendship, and plenty of humor, Tabitha & Russell’s story is one of those that reminds you why I love being a Raleigh wedding videographer. Their vows spoke of traveling the world, making a home together, continuing to grow, and being each other’s greatest champion.

And a HUGE shoutout to the incredible wedding vendor team who kept everything moving beautifully throughout the day. These professionals made navigating a wedding day with temperatures pushing past 100° look effortless.

Special thanks to Macy with The Gathering Co. for making the call to move the ceremony indoors when the heat became just too much. It was absolutely the right decision—and it allowed everyone to relax, enjoy the moment, and be fully present for Tabitha & Russell’s vows.

This is only the teaser… and there is SO much more to come from this beautiful North Carolina wedding!

🍽️ **LET THE WEDDING VENDORS EAT FIRST!! Spencer for President!! 😂**

When the groom is also a wedding vendor, he KNOWS.

This was a rare—and very appreciated—moment when Spencer recognized that the wedding vendors had been working hard all day and needed to eat too. And yes, the videographer was especially grateful. 😂

Here’s a wedding-planning tip couples don’t always think about:

**Feed your media team early enough that they can finish before the toasts, speeches, and other key moments begin.**

Your guests absolutely deserve to enjoy dinner, but your photographer and wedding videographer also need a chance to eat without worrying about missing the moments you hired them to capture.

Because nobody wants your wedding videographer choosing between a hot meal and the best man’s speech. 😅

**Spencer understood the assignment. 👏**

🍾 When the groom can’t make the venue walkthrough… improvise. 😂

Recently joined the bride and her parents for a wedding venue walkthrough at Oaks at Salem, and we got to witness one of my favorite Southern wedding traditions: Burying the Bourbon.

The idea? Bury a bottle of bourbon at the wedding venue ahead of time and, according to tradition, you’ll be rewarded with beautiful weather on the big day. ☀️

And when the groom couldn’t make it?

👉 Put his face on a stick and bring him anyway. 😂

Just another day in the life of a Raleigh wedding videographer documenting all the little moments—and little traditions—that make North Carolina weddings so much fun.

🎥 A little BTS from Spencer & Lydia’s wedding day!

I’m currently deep in the edit, and this one has been SO much fun to relive. A day packed with laughter, genuine moments, and plenty of good-hearted humor. ❤️

As a Raleigh wedding videographer, the long days and late nights are always worth it when you get to serve couples who truly appreciate the work that goes into their wedding film.

And there’s something extra special when the groom is a wedding vendor himself.

Spencer knows firsthand how much work goes into creating an incredible wedding day—and he went above and beyond to make sure everyone around him felt taken care of.

That kind of appreciation means more than you know.

Can’t wait to share more of Spencer & Lydia’s story soon. 🎬❤️

Sometimes the most powerful stories are the simplest ones.
For Kaitlyn & Harley's teaser, I wanted to let their heartfelt letters to each other do the talking. Rather than trying to fit every unforgettable moment into one minute, I chose to focus on what matters most—the love they have for one another. Everything else will come in time.
To me, that's the heart of every wedding film. Beautiful venues, incredible details, and unforgettable celebrations all have their place, but they exist to support the real story: two people making a lifelong commitment and the emotions that surround it.
I'm so grateful to have worked alongside another incredible vendor team, with the beautiful backdrop of @thehartwoodevents and the wonderful @juliareneephoto helping make the day a joy to document.
There's still so much more of Kaitlyn & Harley's story to tell, and I can't wait to share the films that are still to come.

Here's your first look at Spencer & Lydia's unforgettable wedding day. ❤️

From an emotional ceremony live streamed to Lydia's family in Uganda, to an epic celebration that kept the dance floor packed all night, this day was filled with so many moments I can't wait to share.

As a DJ with Stylus Events, Spencer knows firsthand how much an incredible vendor team can elevate a wedding day. He and Lydia intentionally surrounded themselves with talented professional wedding vendors they know and trust, creating a celebration where every detail came together beautifully. A special shoutout to Stylus Events owner/founder Jason Huggins, somehow pulled off the incredible feat of serving as Best Man, Co-Officiant, DJ, and all-around hype man.

And just wait until you see the couple's amazing choreographed dance... this teaser is only the beginning.

The full wedding film is still to come!
