Creature lovers assemble, can you help me find my tribe? Next year brings stage 1 of the big switch to specialism so I’ve set my sights on growing my following and finding others that are going to share my love for fantasy critters, so in return for your help, I’m giving away one completely free! Read through page 2 for rules of entry, make sure to complete all the steps and one lucky person will win a large creature of their own as soon as I hit 10k, good luck and thank you! 📍 Bournemouth Blackwork creature specialist 10 years experience Seeking my people - - - #tattoogiveaway #tattooartist #Bournemouthtattoo #fantasyart #creatureconcepts by @zakkimasquerade
The new booking process has been so helpful in keeping things streamlined - Once you fill out this form, all the information comes straight to me in one go, making it easier and quicker to get quotes and availability back to you. It had gotten increasingly difficult to work with booking via dms, searching usernames was unpredictable and keeping track of messages was a nightmare, on top of the fact that people who wanted to start a new conversation could only send one message until I accepted the request on admin day. So, if you want to get the ball rolling on your next idea, here’s the place to go. My slots are currently for January, February and March, I’d suggest booking in advance if you need time to prepare, once slots are gone they’re gone! As always, happy to hear your custom ideas or you can choose from all of the flash I have in my highlights - - - - #tattoobooking #tattooartist #blackworktattoo #creaturedesign #bournemouthtattoo by @zakkimasquerade
Please Read. Things are changing over here. I’ve known for a while now that my tattooing days are limited, the constant workload on my wrists is taking it’s toll and I won’t be in this for the long run, that’s a hard reality check for me to take. What I hadn’t realised is how much I’ve forgotten who I am as an artist and what I came to this industry to do. This isn’t me quitting, this is a leap of faith while I still have time. I’m pushing through and upholding the promise I made to myself, that I would specialise in creature concept tattoos. For 10 years I’ve honed my skills, learned every style, refined techniques and made my own all to do my creatures justice, so no more waiting. If you’ve taken the time to read through this post, thank you, leave a comment and let me know your thoughts on this new chapter. From here, my feed will change a little bit - I’m of course still actively working so you will see plenty of tattoo posts, but I’ll be showcasing more of the behind the scenes process in creating my creatures, digital paintings and more, I hope you’ll stick around Read through to see how this will all play out, the timeline and how it may affect my booking process, if you have questions about future tattoos or anything else, ask away below, it’ll be helpful for others too Thank you! I pride myself on creating unique designs and won't tattoo anything I haven't drawn myself. Whilst it's always helpful to have reference images so you can let me know the overall vibe and theme you're looking for, I won't copy any of them! Instead, I'll be focusing on designing something bespoke. After all, you'll be wearing it forever. - - - #tattooartist #bournemouthtattoo #blackworktattoo by @zakkimasquerade

A glimpse into the work that goes into every creature design These start off as a tiny painted thumbnail on a page of 50+ very loose concepts. During that stage I’m thinking about form, habitat, and the overall feel of a creature. One thumbnail gets chosen, blown up to full size and we start the process of refining it ready to become a tattoo. This one was pretty quick at 7 hours, the thumbnail was fleshed out enough to draw over without a lot of changes, but sometimes a creature can go through many different levels before I feel it’s ready to be refined Check out my previous post for sizing, pricing and availability for this design, he’s looking for a good home - - - #digitalpainting #creatureconcept #tattooartist by @zakkimasquerade
