'Bedroom in Schaarbeek' is of course a direct reference to G.O.A.T. Vincent Van Gogh. It's one of the more personal works in the exhibition, capturing a longing for safety and homeliness between the four walls of a bedroom. (121 x 93 cm, painted on linen). On display at @mlva.gallery until November 14. by @zenoaerts

A l' hôtel des artistes (2026), is a deep dive into romantic nostalgia.
The idea for this work came to me after visiting a lovely hotel at the edge of a mediterranian coastal village. The hotel was filled to the roof with warm, beautiful paintings of the quaint town and its harbor. Only by now the fishermens boats were replaced with jetski's and fancy cocktail bars. Whatever remained of the beautiful town was trapped inside those paintings.

73 x 51 cm, painted on linen.
