(Showcase Teaser Poster) 아! 오페라 아줄레호 - AZULEJO 이제, 그 문이 열립니다. composer @jieun0077 Director & librettist @artfarmlk Premiere Showcase Dec. 2026 by Korea National Opera #국립오페라단 Korea National Theater @ntong_ntong #오페라아줄레호 #operaazulejo Graphic Design @zer0_2_won Ah, Ocean! Our very life! At last, where two oceans meet—Azulejo. The teaser poster, finally unveiled. The year is 2259. Relentlessly rising seas have claimed half of humanity. Upon a single, united ocean stands Azulejo, humanity’s last outpost. The science that once sought to save humanity now engineers its extinction. Will the age of AI save humanity —or give rise to its next ruler? A sea where prayer and desire, life and domination collide. O humankind! In the sea of death born of your arrogance, you shall walk the path of eternal atonement! Opera AZULEJO —now, its gates open. You are the silence that devours time, A liquid grave where the sun rests. Sacred depths that cover our original sin! O, sacred ocean, we breathe through your tide. #operaforocean #oceanopera #songforocean #ópera #operasinger @operaasiapacific @unoceandecade @oceanliteracy_unesco @ocean_rising #BlueThread @odtif_official by @zer0_2_won

Casts, creative teams, and co-productions routinely span continents; singers build careers that move between countries and cultures. Opera Connects puts that reality in the centre, inviting companies, artists, and audiences everywhere to show how opera crosses borders, languages, and cultures — on social media and on stage. Pre-Announcement: Dear Ocean Album Release Axial Oceania The heart of the ocean floor, the pulse of Axial Seamount—deep off the coast of Oregon, USA, where the Pacific and Juan de Fuca tectonic plates diverge. Earth’s most primal breath. Piercing through the narrow fissures of an underwater volcano, this music captures the explosive eruption of hydrothermal fluids and the dramatic surging of 'black smokers.' The violin’s brilliant high-register melodies depict the dynamic trajectories of black plumes swirling underwater and dispersing into the marine atmosphere. Powerful piano keystrokes and cascading arpeggios dramatically portray the explosive moment magma, once trapped beneath the Earth's crust, meets seawater and gushes forth. Heavy vibrations echo the twisting and tearing of the seafloor, shaped by tens of thousands of years of tectonic movement. Through the repetitive rhythms of 'uplift'—as rock layers rise—and 'subsidence'—as the seabed collapses where magma recedes—the piece reveals the wondrous reality that giant continental plates are continuously dancing, moving a few centimeters each year. It captures the chaotic process of creation: the head-on collision of fire (magma) and water (deep sea), where minerals crystallize and new land is born. By translating real volcanic activity data from Axial Seamount into musical motifs, scientific precision and artistic lyricism are seamlessly combined. In solidarity, artists and scientists unite to foster a deeper understanding of our shared ocean and to translate ocean literacy into meaningful action.
