Tnx Lobster Boys @0.1134_robin & @todorrab for a great show in our gallery space which was reconfigured into a stunning art fair presentation last week @nap.plus “Lobster and shrimp on my plate, I need my pockets so fat they inflate” is a collaborative project by artists Robin Phoenix Whitehouse (UK) and Todor Rabadzhiyski (BG) that started in 2021 and delves into the culture and changing economy associated with lobsters.   In the fourth showcase (Vol. 4: Back of the Kitchen) of the project - for which the artists collaborated with Dürst Britt & Mayhew - the artists look specifically at the moment the lobster enters the restaurant kitchen, tracing the transformation of a sea creature into a symbol of status and celebration. @lobsterandshrimponmyplate #robinwhitehouse #todorrabadzhyiski #durstbrittmayhew by @0.1134_robin
We are happy to welcome Dürst Britt & Mayhew to NAP+ 2026, presenting works by Robin Phoenix Whitehouse and Todor Rabadzhiyski. Their ongoing collaborative project Lobster and shrimp on my plate, I need my pockets so fat they inflate traces the shifting culture and economy surrounding the lobster — from food for the poor to a symbol of luxury and status. Drawing from their own experiences working in a seafood restaurant, the artists explore labour, value, consumption, and transformation through painting, sculpture, video, and installation. @durstbrittmayhew @todorrab @0.1134_robin NAP+ Centrale Markthal Amsterdam 17–20 September 2026 by @0.1134_robin

Wooden transport boxes containing plaster fragments. The boxes were constructed in the basement using the old floor boards of The Royal Academy of Art The Hague that were found discarded in the basement. Into the boxes plaster fragments were loaded that had been previously excavated. The boxes were then removed from the basement and displayed in the Stadhuis of The Hague. Boxes were fabricated by @alex__jonasson during a 2 week period in the basement and removed by assistants @todorrab & @haelfteeinesberges1999 @royalacademyofart.thehague Boxes filled with plaster fragments from the former study collection of the academy #gips In the Stadhuis @atriumdenhaag Curated by @coknol Construction process @alex__jonasson @alex__jonasson Loading the boxes with previously excavated plaster fragments. by @0.1134_robin
Installation views of “Buried beneath the ground and scattered across the soil”, on display in the Stadhuis Den Haag. Part of the ongoing project with the excavation of the former Gips collection of the Royal academy of art The Hague (KABK). For this presentation 15 boxes were made from the old floor boards of the academy that were found in the excavation site. Designed and constructed by @alex__jonasson . The boxes were then filled with the plaster fragments and taken to the @atriumdenhaag where they were on view for the month of July. The plastic transportation boxes were loaned from @hizkiavankralingen and contained 3 casts from the Gipsenzaal of the @royalacademyofart.thehague Thank you to curator @coknol for initiating this and the continuation of the project. The exhibition 'Buried beneath the ground and scattered across the soil' by 2023 alum Robin Whitehouse at @atriumdenhaag is still on view until 18 July at Stadhuis Den Haag! How do stories shape the world we live in today? With this question in mind, curator and visual researcher Co Knol (@coknol) invited artist Robin Whitehouse (@0.1134_robin) to explore the role of the artist in shaping, reflecting on, and questioning existing narratives and how both artist and viewer can contribute to reshaping, rethinking, and passing them on. Robin’s work invites us to step into the layers of history, where forgotten fragments whisper stories of the past and challenge us to reimagine the future. More info via the link in bio. by @0.1134_robin
