I’m posting this in hopes of getting FPL’s attention and finally resolving an issue I’ve been dealing with since 2022.

For nearly four years, I’ve been bounced from person to person, each promising help but nothing getting resolved. In 2025, I finally connected with someone who said they would take ownership of the situation, and for the first time it felt promising.

The issue is simple:

FPL has a utility pole on my property, directly against one of my walls — not near the outside property line, but in the middle of it.

This pole serves not only my building but multiple properties in the area.

I was told relocating the pole would take 16 weeks. I agreed and waited patiently.

Now I’m being given the runaround again — told it will be expensive and discouraged from moving it at all.

This is FPL’s pole on my property. It prevents proper use of the space and is tied to providing service to multiple properties. It should be relocated and resolved without further delay.

I have been extremely patient. We have completed this entire project running on generators — with no permanent power — while waiting for a solution.

I was even willing to contribute toward costs, but at this point the situation has become unreasonable.

I’m at a complete standstill now. This delay is preventing me from completing construction on my new location. I still need to dig, install drainage, pour pavement, and complete the parking lot. Completing this work now only to have FPL later require the pavement to be cut and re-excavated would create unnecessary cost, disruption, and delays for a small business.

At this point, I don’t even know whether it is legally reasonable for a small business to be put in this position.

If anyone at #FPL — or anyone who can help move this forward — sees this, please contact me.
