You can go down a real rabbit hole trying to copy Bond’s clothes exactly. The shirt has to be this one, the shoes have to be those, and soon enough the whole thing costs a fortune.

But Bond’s wardrobe works because most of it is pretty simple. And that’s probably the useful bit to take from it. Not the exact outfit from one scene, but the way the pieces work together. by @007dossier

Most of us overpack for a holiday. We fill the case with clothes for occasions that never happen, then spend two weeks wearing the same few things.

This is my Bond-inspired wardrobe for a fortnight by the sea. Everything works with everything else, so there are far more possible outfits than the size of the case suggests. Wash everything a couple of times and you're done. And if you are not certain you will wear something, leave it at home.

It is not about dressing as James Bond, but packing with the same economy.

I really love this choice. I’m glad Higson didn’t go down the obvious Rolex or Omega route. That argument has been done to death.

Vertex brings something else. A British watchmaker with a real military background.

That feels much closer to Bond to me. What do you think?

One passion I share with both James Bond and Ian Fleming is a love of the undersea world. Although my days of diving every weekend are long gone, I do love to grab my mask, fins and snorkel and go looking for whatever I can find.

Charlie Higson is joining the world of Young Bond in a new way.

The Young Bond creator voices James Bond’s Eton mentor Michael Merriot in Big Finish’s (@bigfinishprod) upcoming full-cast audio adaptation of SilverFin.

Due for release in October 2026, the 16-part drama stars Isaac Rouse as James Bond and Charlotte McBurney as Wilder Lawless.

Higson said revisiting the story more than 20 years after writing it had been “a lot of fun”, with Merriot acting as an alternative father figure to the young Bond.

SilverFin will be released in two volumes through Big Finish and the Ian Fleming Shop. by @007dossier

Daniel Craig’s first Bond suit in Casino Royale barely looks like a Bond suit — and that’s exactly why it works.

Dark navy linen, short-sleeved shirt, no tie, suede boots. Relaxed, practical and easy to wear without looking like you’ve come dressed as 007.

Now Anthony Sinclair and Academy Costumes have recreated it using the original patterns and cutting notes.
