as i step into the final chapter of my twenties, i keep coming back to this thought -
that we are tides in the ocean, drawn by forces we cannot fully see, moving to our own rhythm.
our lives come together, brushing against the same shoreline - then the water shifts, and we quietly pull apart.
carried from one wave to another, drifting in this ocean we call the universe, we change, we make mistakes (i know i do..), and we question where we’re going - what any of this is for.
a year ago, i poured myself into work and drinking and thought that was my identity, and i convinced myself that keeping distance from others was a form of self-love, even if it meant letting people slip away.
but if the past 12 months has taught me anything, it is that love is the waves in the sea -
it arrives in ways you don’t expect, lingers where you didn’t plan for it, and somehow returns, even after it has pulled back.
the people who matter find their way to you again - not always at the same time, or in the same way - but like tides, there’s a rhythm to it.
and sometimes, people love you in a way that doesn’t quite reach where you need it to - like waves that break just short of the shore.
so you try - to meet halfway, to move with the current, to understand each other’s rhythm.
or you don’t. and you let the distance grow, letting the water pull you in different directions, trusting that not everything is meant to stay - and if it was, it will return.
in the end, we’re all just finding our rhythm -
learning how to meet each other
where the tide feels right. 🌊
