It's been an interesting year. Since retiring from Kroger in December, I've had wonderful opportunities to just soak in God, family, friendships, art like water and sunshine on a fallow field. No formal classes, just a lot of play.

As the year is winding down, I can feel God's Spirit moving me toward more intention and focus. Like the way is becoming more clear. These are the books on my desk right now. It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds 😊 #lifeofanartist #JesusLives #lebanonoh by @10gables

Today, I decided to paint outside for the first time. Just me, a little stool, the solidago (goldenrod) and our old tractor. I'm guessing the critics would have some pretty ugly things to say, but to me, this little watercolor represents something beautiful: possibility.

Everything I need fits into a little backpack with plenty of room for snacks and water. I can take this pack anywhere we go and create a little memory of the moment. For Mark and me to look at later and remember that old tractor, our prairie garden, and a lovely Sunday afternoon. I hesitated to post this because why would a jewelry maker share anything besides jewelry and lovely scenery...and then I realized someone else out there might be thinking about trying something new. And they might be letting that inner critic (or the outside ones) stop them. Don't let them. Learn from them. And keep going.

Before you know it, you'll look back and realize just how far you've come and the skills your hard work has developed along the way. #keepgoing #GodIsInTheDetails #enamelartist by @10gables

Had a wonderful opportunity to make a custom for a long-time client with her vintage turquoise 💙 She wanted something interesting, so we picked this White Buffalo from my stash and designed the bracelet around them... by @10gables

53 days later...I have been very slow-posting this year and it's been, well, nice. I feel more rested, relaxed, and connected to what's really going on around and inside me. Hope you are having a nice summer, too! 💕 by @10gables

Enjoying some quiet time on the back porch. Really liking this book which explores the idea of 'craft' and how it is interrelated, yet distinct in its own right... taken in Lebanon, Ohio by @10gables
