2 moments of pure joy!
I was blessed with the opportunity to spend the day with Al Lindner @lindnersanglingedge in MY BOAT the other day!

While growing up, I watched his TV shows and followed along with his success in the fishing industry, it is truly inspirational to see what he has accomplished. We both called Brainerd MN home and would bump into eachother from time to time so I always wanted his signature when I saw him and he would always be more than happy!
This old photo is back in my middle school days while at the MN Teen Challenge fishing tournament in my hometown of Brainerd, MN. (Getting my rod cork signed the night before the tournament) This was one of the first real tournaments I had ever fished! My Dad and I placed in the teens I believe, however the big kicker was winning the big raffle at the end! A week long stay at Witch Bay Camp on Lake of the Woods in Ontario, Canada! That trip I caught my first musky! And many many walleyes/ smallmouth bass. A trip I will never forget, a trip that added fuel to my already burning passion for fishing.
I knew back then that someday I wanted to be a “pro fisherman”. Mission accomplished, Al you’re a very big part in why I am here, doing what I’m doing, catching tarpon with you… This life is not easy, guiding isn’t for everyone, I have my days, but most are good and I’m damn sure proud to say I’ve taken out one of the most legendary anglers to walk this earth and hear him say “thank you for the trip of a lifetime” I must be doing something right! Thank you Al and thank you Jason Bahr @bahrfish for helping set things up for the day! Truthfully, it could not have gone any better!!!

A true Rockstar hero shot!

If you’ve ever been on a trip with me you’ve heard his music, and if you ever go on a trip with me in the future, then you’ll also hear his music! One of my favorite bands @treatyoakrevival ‘s -Sam Canty and his Father Pat (two of the nicest guys I’ve met) came down to Marco Island specifically to catch a tarpon with me! The day was made early on with a big one on light tackle, however the icing was put on top when Sam landed this stud in the shallows and got in with it!

“Getting in treble”.

A beautiful shot of a tarpon from this August. This is one of the better pre rigged swimbaits I’ve thrown. Built for barramundi in Australia means they’re built tough! These hooks are daggers and they don’t bend easily, that’s my favorite part. They come out of the box ready to roll. Check them out at @irukandji_tackle and try a few unique colors.

Happy 4th of July!

Thank you to all of my supporters, friends, family, clients and people that have helped make this possible. It’s been quite the journey these past few years but we’re doin it!!! The name 10K Charters originally came to mind while I was in class one day, days before I gave up on school in MN and pursued guiding full time in FL. I wanted to start an LLC that highlighted both Minnesota and Florida at the same time that was simple, clean, and not already taken. Minnesota is the Land of 10,000 lakes and here in Florida I am in the 10,000 islands! I knew it was meant to be when I went to the office to get an LLC for Florida at 19 years old they told me the name was likely already taken, and to our surprise it was wide open!!!

What a place to live, the freedom to have a vision in one state, move across the country and chase it, make something become of that vision, all while living in such a beautiful place! How special is that!? It’s truly the American dream! Happy 4th of July everyone and happy birthday AMERICA🇺🇸

“Acceptable bycatch”

Trophy snook fishing is one of my favorite things to do nowadays! Cut bait, swimbaits, live baits, glide baits, topwater, they’re a pretty versatile fish and they seem to have a very healthy population! Our biggest hit 40” this April! If you’d like a TROPHY SNOOK specific trip, I can deliver! Let’s make it happen this summer, the water is heating up and the bite is getting HOT!

41X82 (girth x fork length) top tarpon for 2025 landed by my friend @m_andrews16 on a swimbait this fall, on a spur of the moment trip! (First picture)

This year was insane, 3 fish at or over 200 pounds with dozens of other tarpon 150-180 pounds. I shared the boat with some of the greatest people and we had some of the best days ever in the history of tarpon fishing period. I can’t say thank you enough to all of the wonderful guests and friends who’ve helped make this possible along the way.

The new year is here and I highly suggest getting on my schedule in 2026! You don’t want to miss out!

2025 is coming to an end, but it’s not over yet! Here’s a few great pics from the last couple months that never made it up!

The acceptable bycatch has been biting! Most of these are 38-40” fish! Some people have no idea how big these are because it will be their first snook ever!

On days where tarpon fishing is great and we’ve landed a few of them we will transition into a big snook hunt and try to catch a giant! That gives us a break, the tarpon a break, and sets a new goal for the day. Rather than beating up the tarpon for 8 hours straight we may tweak our trip and target other species including trophy snook for part of the day! However on the tougher winter days, it may take all day to get a few tarpon to bite so we tend to leave the snook alone when it’s chilly!

We took advantage of the 85 degree water and secured the beach photo with a very nice tarpon! These ladies went straight from basic largemouth bass fishing to big tarpon boot camp! They did very well and defeated an 80+ pound fish together in under 15 minutes!

October is traditionally the start of falling water temps and minor cold fronts, fortunately we’ve had some beautiful weather hanging around lately! October is filling fast, Nov has quite a few open dates available! Some very large tarpon will be caught within the next couple of months!
