What an unforgettable evening at Zapote!
Our México Lindo y Sonido Mexican Independence Day celebration took us on a multisensory journey through the heart of Mexico, where contemporary Mexican cuisine met the country’s rich musical heritage.
From the vibrant sounds of live mariachi to five signature dishes inspired by five iconic Mexican regions, every moment was a celebration of culture, flavour and tradition.
We were especially honoured to welcome the Mexican Ambassador to the UK, who joined us to address our guests and celebrate this special occasion. 🇲🇽✨
The music, the tequila, the incredible food, the laughter and a room full of people coming together to celebrate Mexico — this is what makes events at Zapote so special.

This Mexican Independence Day, we’re bringing the spirit, flavours and sounds of Mexico to Shoreditch for a very special México Lindo y Sonido Gala Dinner at Zapote.

Join Manuel and Chef Yahir Gonzalez on 15 September for an immersive journey through Mexico, with a five-course experience inspired by five iconic regions of the country. Each course will tell a different story through authentic Mexican flavours, ingredients and traditions — all given the contemporary Zapote touch.

And this is definitely not just dinner… 🇲🇽✨

Expect live mariachi, tequila, music, surprises and a room full of Mexican energy as we celebrate into the night.

🇲🇽🇬🇧 A new chapter for Mexican arts and culture in the UK.

In the presence of the Head of Mission of the Embassy of Mexico in the UK @embamex_gbr , Minister Joel Hernández, the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in the UK formally established the structure of its Arts & Culture Committee.

Manuel Díaz Cebrián, Director of @110percebmdc , Committee Leader and Chamber Advisor, together with MxCC Board Director @david.martinez.flo members of the Board of Directors and the Committee, held a productive and engaging meeting to formally define the Committee’s Objectives, Mission and Vision, alongside clear agreements for mutual collaboration.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of ¡Viva Frida!, a collective art exhibition celebrating Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and her enduring influence on contemporary artists.

A meaningful setting for an important step in strengthening cultural and creative connections between Mexico and the UK. 🇲🇽🤝🇬🇧

We will welcome distinguished guests to an elegant evening featuring a specially curated five-course Mexican tasting menu, created by renowned Mexican Chef Yair Gonzalez.

This unique culinary experience celebrates the authentic flavours of Mexico in an exclusive setting.

A Music Journey Through Mexico:

Jalisco – Seafood Aguachile, Tomato, Tequila & Pitaya
Veracruz – Chargrilled Octopus a la Veracruzana
Mexico City – Huitlacoche Tamal, Spiced Aubergine, Grilled Mushrooms & Aged Cheese
Oaxaca – Duck Leg Confit, Traditional Black Mole, Beetroot & Handmade Tortillas
Yucatán – Hazelnut Chocolate & Strawberry Marquesita.

The evening will culminate with El Grito de Independencia, vibrant sounds of a traditional Mariachi performance, before guests continue the celebration at the official after-party until late.

After party entrance from 9 pm with a limited space.
