En 2023, Christelle Bakima Poundza sort son premier essai « Corps noirs. Réflexions sur le mannequinat, la mode et les femmes noires » (Les Insolentes @hachettefr). Elle y pointe du doigt l’invisibilisation et le manque de représentation des femmes noires, mais aussi des personnes trans et des lesbiennes dans la mode. Capitalisation des luttes, exploitation des corps, hypocrisie du milieu, isolement, endettement, colorisme, fétichisation… Le livre permet d’appréhender la mode en tant que lieu de travail qu’il est absolument nécessaire de réformer. « Enfin alors, peut-être, nous pourrons faire société » conclut-elle dans « Corps noirs ».

Pour ce troisième épisode de « Un thé avec… », George @111felicitecharms s’entretient avec l’autrice. Dans la première partie de cette conversation, elle se dévoile sur son rapport à l’écriture, vécue dans sa famille comme moyen d’amour et de transmission, son expérience d’être éditée pour la première fois, et ce qui a finalement forgé la magie de son écriture actuelle.
