Thanks @adam.c.nash for a fantastic weekend in Cairns, which included several new experiences: Hopscotch, the little random swimming holes in the creek on the way to Behana Gorge, a themed murder mystery dinner, a very disappointing $10 pie, Murderbot (excellent show). And getting to see @that_playground_mum while not a new experience was great as always! by @11_14_am

“You’re telling me that we’re standing on the brink of AI taking over everything? These things still suck in super important ways!”
—Hard Fork. But my thoughts whenever I ask ChatGPT to help me come up with practice material from a book and it hallucinates everything.
Would love to talk to anyone about your thoughts on AGI and whether it’s close, far, or not going to happen. taken in Pacific Pines by @11_14_am

For several years now I’ve had an almost endless supply of work that I can do anywhere. Not just the side gig (editing), but there’s always something to do for teaching. And I could make use of all the time between stuff at cafes and restaurants, and all the train and bus travel, by pulling out my laptop. I think that’s changing, because I’ve been getting neck and finger pain from using a laptop so much. I’m getting a mechanical Bluetooth keyboard, which will help, but this might be another thing that forces me to be more selective with what I spend my time on. And read a lot more books on the train.. taken in Bilinga by @11_14_am
