A little over a year ago, I was in a place I never thought I’d be: overweight, struggling with substance abuse, and depressed. I convinced myself that my sadness was a valid excuse to live the way I did.

I’m incredibly grateful to the friends who confronted me about myself, even when I was too stubborn to see it. They saw the wrong in me that I couldn’t see in myself, and even though it took time, I eventually came to realize that I was making terrible choices that were hurting not only myself but also the people I cared about most. That realization was what made me seek better.

Motivated by one of my close friends, I decided to get into a sport that I’ve loved since I was younger, Muay Thai. Eventually,I found a gym, and from that moment on, I was hooked. The discipline, the sweat, and the grind started to transform me in ways I didn’t expect. I saw progress not just in my fitness, but in my character. I started to feel genuinely happy, and most importantly, the discipline I learned in training started to spill over into all areas of my life.

This year hasn’t been easy, there were days when I wanted to quit, but I knew that I wanted more for myself. And through that desire, I achieved things I never thought I’d be able to do. In a year of training I was able to drop a ton of weight, meet the coolest people, and had 3 fights and now I’m looking to continue my progression.

I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come even though I still have a long way to go but this is just the beginning. Life’s a journey, and I’m excited for what’s next.

This year with this new journey and hobby has been rough but it’s taught me more than anything imaginable. Though I may not be where I’d like to be skill wise I’m very proud of the kind of person I’ve become mentally and physically.

I wouldn’t be able to do it without the continuous support of the @diamondheart_pcc team. Special thanks to @coachbloodymustache @alexmunrofitness @buantastic @jindiesel & @gavin_van_godam_vlack for playing such a huge role in the process.

Looking forward to continue growing !
