As a journalist, certified lifeguard, and someone who spends every spare second in or on the water, my life revolves around the ocean. Through my newsletter, Talty’s Ocean Dispatch, I investigate the frontlines of the blue economy, fisheries, climate tech and the grassroots stories of the people protecting our seas.

For nearly 40 years, I’ve swum in some of the world’s most extreme and fragile waters – from the North Pole to Antarctica, and from the Himalayas to the world’s great rivers.

I swim to draw attention to places that are rapidly changing, and to safeguard their future.

That’s why I’m delighted to be joining @11thhourracing as an ambassador. We believe that sport can inspire people to take action to protect nature.

It’s SHOWTIME for The Met School students @newportfolkfest! 🎶🥁

The legendary @newportfolkfest is in full swing this weekend but did you know about the @newportfestivals Foundation?

Newport Festivals Foundation (NFF) provides free music lessons to RI students ages 9-18, hosts the NFF Music Lab and Newport Jazz Summer Camp, facilitates instrument donations, and more.

And this weekend, the Music Lab Band publicly debuted their newly recorded album at the Foundation Stage after 2 years in the program.

Newport Festivals Foundation’s Music Lab program gives The Met School students the rare opportunity to work directly with festival artists throughout the school year to learn what it takes to be a musician in today’s ever-evolving music industry.

Students learn the basics of music theory, form their own bands, and write their own songs.

The program culminates with each student performing live on stage at the Newport Folk Festival.

What is The Ocean Race Atlantic? 🗽⛵️🇫🇷

This is The Ocean Race’s first-ever point- A-to-point-B race starting on the 1st of September from NYC and finishing in Lorient, France.

This race marks the first time a mandatory 50/50 gender equity rule is enforced across the entire fleet.

How to win? 🏆

It’s simple, the first boat to cross the finish line in Lorient wins.

At the finish line in Lorient, France, we are building an Ocean Live Park open to the public for FREE. You can visit the event village, experience interactive exhibits, learn about ocean health and meet the sailors and teams face-to-face. taken in New York City by @11thhourracing

We never doubted Frankie had plenty of talents. Getting into full ocean gear in under a minute? Apparently, that’s one of them too. ⏱️😄

With another busy stretch of training and racing ahead as she continues her first solo @imocaglobeseries campaign, every minute counts. Fortunately, getting race ready isn't one of the things slowing her down. We're proud to be part of that routine, keeping Frankie race-ready in #NorthSailsPerformanceGear.

She did it. 🥈HERstory Made. ✊

First solo race on an Ocean Fifty.
11 boats on the startline.
One of the oldest hulls in the fleet.
And Anne-Claire just stood on the podium.

While most of the fleet played it safe to the south, she committed to the north : storms, pressure, risk and all.

First solo. First podium. Just like that.
But this result is bigger than a number on a leaderboard. This is what UpWind by MerConcept with @11thhourracing was built for : giving women the boat, the miles, the autonomy and the belief to compete at the very top of offshore multihull racing. And proving, once again, that they absolutely belong there.

So proud of you @anneclaireleberre . So proud of every single person who worked endless hours to make this happen.

The bar just got raised. Again. 🚀
