125 PROJECTS is excited to announce the opening of Faye Pamintuan's solo exhibition, 'Under the Blazing Sun: Wag Maglakad Sa Tanghaling Tapat' on 5 September 2026 (Saturday), 5PM to 9PM.

In her latest body of work, Pamintuan continues her investigation into abacá, a species of banana plant indigenous to the Philippines, as both muse and teacher. This inquiry began while she was completing her MFA studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where she encountered the plants in the university botanic gardens. The artist explores its roots in Filipino culture and folklore. Pamintuan states she likes to imagine her new paintings as capturing the harsh, revealing light of the midday hour, when the forces of sun and land feel most charged. Within this hour, when the landscape lays most bare, she is reminded of folk tales.

In observing and listening to spirit, she cultivates her material world. In this new work, the color red, slashes in the paper foreground, and leaves made from plant paper itself pull the background forward as a reminder that the natural world is much more than a backdrop for humanity.

125 PROJECTS resumes our exhibitions program with 'Grounds Without Measure' featuring works by Jonas Eslao, Poeleen Alvarez, and Rolf Campos on 5 September 2026 (Saturday), 5PM to 9PM.

Eslao, Alvarez, and Campos share the practice of drawing from seemingly familiar forms in approaching abstraction by way of popular imagery, botanical illustration, and materiality. The 'grounds' in their works become sites that interrogate histories, systems, and material conditions embedded within images.

'Grounds Without Measure' will be on view from 5 September through 4 October 2026. We are located at NBS Park, 125 Pioneer Street, Mandaluyong City.

Faye Pamintuan's 'Under the blazing sun: ‘wag maglakad sa tanghaling tapat' explores the roots of the banana plant in Filipino culture and folklore. Alongside her gestural, energetic paintings, hand-built ceramics and abacá paper sculptures cultivate a thriving, luminous landscape. Sown throughout the compositions of her new paintings is the introduction of red as an anchor point in her saturated color palette. Rusty and glowing, red radiates through her backgrounds, creating a distinct feeling of heat, like the blazing sun at high noon.

It's the last week to see the exhibition! Come and visit us!

Scenes from 'Peña Flamenca: Jerez á Manila' organized by Centro Flamenco Philippines last May at 125 PROJECTS. The event celebrated Flamenco, an Andalusian art form built on three pillars: cante (song), baile (dance), and toque (guitar). It is characterized by passionate emotion, intense rhythm, and percussive grounded movement.

We are grateful to @centroflamencophilippines and everyone who came and watched the recital.

¡Así se baila!

We are pleased to share documentation from 'New Grounds', a pop-up exhibition presented in partnership with Novare. Bringing together works by Issay Rodriguez, Jonas Eslao, Kat Medina, Pepe Delfin, Renz Baluyot, Ronyel Compra, and Veronica Lazo, it surveys practices engaged with the material conditions of the present and their speculative futures. Working across painting, textile, sculpture, installation, and expanded image-making, the exhibition considers material not as a fixed substrate but as an active site for experimentation, translation, and transformation.

With over three decades of leadership in the Philippine tech landscape, Novare drives impactful digital transformation through innovations and continues to push the boundaries of technology, fostering a sustainable and inclusive digital future.

The exhibition is on view from 21 - 28 July 2026 (10 AM to 6 PM) at MDi Corporate Center, 39th Street corner, 10th Ave, BGC. taken in BGC, Taguig City by @125projects
