Not sure there are words for this one, but Mike Prevatte deserves the attempt. He wasn’t just a teammate — he was part of what this team is. He became the reason people kept showing up.We could talk forever about his cycling achievements — his season omnium podium at NCCX, his top ten finish at the 2025 Croatan, his steeled nerves on any downhill course — but cycling was just one facet of what made him so special.Mike found his way to us in 2022, his charismatic charm and infectious laugh leading the way to what would become an incredible friendship with him and his whole family. We saw his strength as a father and his sweetness as a husband, and it inspired us all to be better people. A humble man who wanted nothing more than to lift up those around him.He built his life around service to others — his EMT and emergency management background ran deep, and he brought that spirit to everything he did. Always willing to volunteer with Tour de Femme, lead group rides, teach cyclocross skills. Always ready to cheer for your success, whether you were a teammate or a competitor.The peloton lost one of the good guys. I can only hope we carry forward the hope and humor he left behind.
