I appreciate everybody who has taken the time to write me on Instagram, DM me, check on me, and send your condolences. I see every message, and I feel every word. Knowing that so many people are hurting with me and sharing this pain means more to me than I could ever explain.

I’m not going to lie… I am hurting. Bad.

I never knew losing somebody you love could hurt like this. I never knew there could be a pain this deep, a pain that you can’t just sleep off, pray away, or wake up from. There are moments when I still catch myself thinking this can’t be real. Then reality hits me all over again, and I realize she’s really gone.

And that shit hurts.

There are no perfect words for losing somebody who meant so much to you. Sometimes you just sit there in silence, replaying memories in your head, wishing you could hear their voice one more time, see their face one more time, hug them one more time, or just have one more conversation.

One more time.

That’s the part that hurts the most… knowing there is no more “one more time.”

But through all this pain, I have to remind myself: I’ Am Still Him.

And I can hear Z Lady saying what she always said: “We got to go out like a bang.”

She don’t want no crying. She would have wanted a celebration of life, because life is too short. And losing her has made me realize just how short it really is.

So wake up in the morning and tell everybody you love that you love them. Tell them every single day. Hug them. Call them. Check on them. Make the memories. Because one day, you may wake up wishing you had one more chance to do all the things you thought you had more time to do.

I’m going to miss her.
I’m going to hurt.
There are going to be days when a memory hits me out of nowhere and the tears come before I can stop them.

And that’s okay.

Because the tears are proof that she mattered.
The pain is proof that she was loved.
And the memories are proof that she was here.

But I refuse to let the day we lost her become bigger than the life she lived.

Z Lady deserves to be celebrated.

So that’s exactly what I’m going to give her.

We’re going to celebrate the love she gave us. The laughs. by @134coke
