I really do miss working on my Falcon and posting updates but I think the massive project I'm working on will be worth taking the time away from it. Hopefully I will get a chance to get back to it soon! Here's the "best of" this year.
Happy New Year everyone!
This is the way!

Here's concept art for the other side of the YT-2400 "theater room" I'm going to be building. This will be the hallway to the room so you get a full immersive experience!

I've been wanting to build a theater room for a long time in some empty space I have and wanted it to feel like the interior of the Falcon but still different. This project I'm working on let's me finally do that! One of the main ship's we're doing is a YT-2400 and since there's no canon images I get to do all the designing. Building the Falcon interior detail by detail has helped me get a real feel for the YT series structure and design. More images to come. (I do promise to get back to Lego at some point soon!) #legofan #millenniumfalcon #falconmodel #fivefootfalcon #conceptart #starwarsart #starwarsconceptart #conceptdesign #yt-2400 by @13dirtblack

Here's a test of some buildings. We want to do as many practical effects as possible in this project and so we were trying out an idea for miniatures. Then I did a digital matte painting around them and other post production changes. Really excited about the way these turned out. Now to make 500-600 more ha ha

More concept art I'm working on. Just using infinite painter on my Galaxy tablet. Still learning how to use this app. My version of a YT-2400. For the final production we are going to do practical effects so I get to scratch build this as a 3-4 foot filming model!

Here's another concept image for this project. I'm really getting excited about the direction this is taking and the opportunities. I'm also happy to be working in digital. I never get the chance to do it and I love the improvements I'm getting. I'll be back to Lego and the Falcon soon, I promise!
More concepts and model building to come very soon!
What do you guys think?

Here's another digital painting I worked on for this upcoming project. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to Lego soon! Had a great time at Brickworld last weekend and glad I got to meet a lot of cool people again!
