hiding in those makeshift apertures,
what follows is what already occurred

i hold hollow the air for each echo of a sign
what rush to depart, my rose-lipped divine?
clutch my filthy hands, kiss my bloody feet
alone in the dark, time silently weeps

oh, but where are you now?
there’s no need to split the baby in two
much better that they raze it all down,
erase what once was to build something new

the orchestra swells in its blistering sendoff
no longer exalted, but condemned to slow rot

at once, every soul spat back to primordial mud
death falls like rain, torrential thousand cuts
clap of thunder: a life brutalized to be forgotten
it’s the patient snare of thorns we all end up caught in

but where are you now? were you ever here at all?
flicker in periphery
phantasmic, a noumenon

what follows is what already has occurred
sent to death’s horizon, then on the other side emerged by @16____psyche

pinheads - please welcome @16____psyche to the Candlepin Records family

we are thrilled to announce leadoff single ‘worry stone’ from the forthcoming album ‘martyr without a cause’ • link in bio to hear the track & preorder a cassette

a deeply enveloping & all-encompassing project from Isabel Cenower (Smut) , 16 Psyche’s debut full-length allows for a deep breath and step back before a blossoming jettison forward - a fully electronic project, it’s tracks are layered with dreamy hooks, syncopated drum programming, and an intimate, intense sense of musical construction • think ‘synth-pop with a medieval goth bent’ and you’re still nowhere close to grasping it’s core - pulling influence from religious philosophy, Greek mythology, astronomy, halachic history, and great wars past, the lyrical subject matter explores the heady concepts of absolutism, eternity, tragedy, and the futility of being • a loose concept album of a demigod from a distant planet who, in a kind of Sisyphean nightmare, is cast out by her mother, (a true deity) to endlessly sacrifice, martyr, do battle, maim, or otherwise injure/eliminate herself for reasons the heroine cannot understand - these ten songs explore all that may accompany such a fate, and the struggle to maintain faith in the face of this ceaseless suffering - somehow, the hooks persevere & what’s left is an astonishing monument of work from an endlessly inventive artist

MWAC (CPR-128) drops in full 09.12
