To be awarded GOLD and BEST IN CLASS consecutively for 2 years is something I never dared dream of… and I’m ever so grateful to the @salonculinaire judges for this honour.

Supported by only 2 stilt-thin legs and rising up to 2 glorious plums, it took a fair bit of planning and calculations to get the centre of gravity right… thereby minimising any possibility of damage during transition to/from the competition venue.

Lost count the number of pulled/rolled sugar paste strands done(and broken), each batch is coloured closely to achieve an ombré effect on its wings and tails. The most laborious was waiting for each strand to solidify slightly, curling them before laying/overlapping the next one… and repeating.

The curls/swirls on the cake board consist of 3 hues of blue, but somewhere along the lines, I got disoriented laying them in the order intended... and just like life, sometimes you’ve just got to go with the flow of things.

THIS EXHIBIT IS DEDICATED TO A DEAR FRIEND WHO IS NO LONGER WITH US… REST IN PEACE OLD CHUMP.

Whoohooo… am absolutely over the moon to have been awarded a Silver for my competition exhibit at @cakeinternationalofficial in Birmingham.

Gobsmacked to say the least… wasn’t expecting much as I felt it could have been done better and differently… and dedicated more time to it. I suppose the saying is true… we are indeed our own worst critic.

Will go into details in the next few days… I so need to decompress and chill out now that the result is out.

Yesterday I had the wonderful pleasure of attending the grand opening of @aiyarathaispa located in Finchley Road.

A five-minute stroll from the Finchley Road Underground Station, this tranquil haven offers a sanctuary for both body and mind.

With over a decade of experience, their skilled and professional therapists are well-versed in traditional Thai massage techniques.

A striking Buddha statue graces the brightly lit reception area, while two separate treatment rooms – single and double – provide options for private or couple’s treatments.

To explore their diverse range of treatments, head over to @aiyarathaispa page.

Trio of brownies at @kavicoffeelondon …which are we going for?

White Chocolate Chips: the recipe that has evolved through better techniques and new innovative ingredients, yielding an intense rich fudgy brownie… bursting with creamy white chocolate chips.

Miso Sesame: complex layers of flavours, harmonious balance of umami and aromatic sesame notes with cocoa powder, offering hints of cocoa, nuts, caramel and cream... textured with roasted sesame seeds and creamy white chocolate chips.

Salted Caramel: profiles of cocoa, nuts, caramel and cream… a ‘smooth operator’ textured with salted caramel chocolate chips and drizzle.
