A-5 ‘Vigilante’, North American Aviation, 1962

“The North American RA-5C Vigilante was a premier supersonic, carrier-based tactical reconnaissance aircraft for the U.S. Navy, serving extensively during the Vietnam War (1962–1979). Originally designed as a Mach 2 nuclear bomber (A-5A), it was reconfigured to carry cameras, sensors, and ECM gear in a “canoe” fairing under the fuselage. It was renowned as one of the fastest and largest aircraft operated from carrier decks, often relying on its speed to evade defenses.” by @17761776t
