One of my favorites by @1966acm

Been working on something fun!!!

It’s been a longtime dream of mine to create something of my own, something that brings me joy while also feeling meaningful to me. I started this Instagram 3 years ago for fun but I always hoped it would turn into something more.

My mom is my biggest inspiration. I am who I am because of her. I know she would be 1966acm biggest supporter.

When I sell, I mostly use Depop, but I decided to play around with creating my own website and it ended up being so much fun to bring to life. So here’s to turning this hobby into something. My goal is to become more consistent so please follow along 🫶

Not only did my mom have an eye for things like vintage Ralph Lauren and denim, but her whole personality, who she was, was a muse in itself. The most loving and welcoming woman around. She was always the friend, mom or stranger that was hyping everyone up around her. She never cared about who the actual winner was or what was in at the moment; she only cared about having fun and making sure everyone else was too. Whether she was cheering her heart out (losing or winning) or dancing in public just to make everyone laugh, she brought joy everywhere she went. She was and always will be that person.

My mom was everyone’s cheerleader, but I was lucky enough to have her as my biggest fan. From day one, she let me be absolutely anyone I wanted to be. She would take me out of school to go to nyc for my birthday or to get me a graduation dress. She’d drive me to school blasting Rich Girl by Gwen Stefani, letting me step out of the car in whatever wild outfit I’d put together that day. She let me go to preschool wearing two different shoes just because I wanted to. As I got older, I made some great and some very questionable fashion choices, all with her support (and maybe a few she wished she and I hadn’t encouraged). But she never cared what other people thought. If anyone was being judgy, she’d just turn it into a joke and move right along.

The last photo here is one I took of my mom in the Burberry store at King of Prussia Mall. For weeks, she’d been talking about this bag she saw. It took her forever to convince herself to buy it. She never spent money like that on herself, even though she’d tip a waitress the same amount without blinking an eye. But that day, she finally decided to go for it. We drove to the mall after my high school field hockey practice. Both of us totally underdressed and got a few looks from people in the store. We just laughed, and she walked out of there with her new bag. I’m so happy I took out my phone to capture that moment.

I can thank my mom for a lot of things..my shopping addiction, my free-spirt and adventurous soul, my appreciation for vintage and pop culture but most of all, for just being her. ❤️❤️❤️ by @1966acm
