The Beatles Tribute with 1972

Saturday | October 10 | 8PM

The day after John Lennon’s 86th birth anniversary, Skinny Mo’s Jazz Club, along with 1972, will come together to celebrate the music of The Beatles, a band whose songs continue to influence listeners across the world, 56 years after they parted ways.

Formed in 2018, 1972 brings together musicians and professionals bound by a shared love for the golden years of rock ’n’ roll. For two of its founding members, the connection with The Beatles goes back to their school days, when a shared love for the band began over a school auditorium piano. That musical partnership has continued over the years, with The Beatles becoming an ingrained part of 1972’s identity.

This October, 1972 returns to Skinny Mo’s to honour the music that changed the world, bringing timeless songs that still feel as alive and relevant today.

Come together for an evening of nostalgia, energy and Beatles mania.

Bob Dylan Tribute with 1972 live at Skinny Mo's Jazz Club

Saturday | May 23 | 8PM

May 24th marks the birth anniversary of Nobel Laureate Bob Dylan. To celebrate the legacy of one of the most influential songwriters of all time, 1972 will be taking the stage at Skinny Mo's to pay tribute to the bard.

Formed in 2018, 1972 brings together seasoned musicians and professionals. Frontman Rachit Lakhmani, whose teenage obsession with Dylan spurred him to pick up the guitar and harmonica in the true Dylanesque style.

The performance will move from the early acoustic folk years of Dylan (The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan), travelling on to his switch to a more electric sound with songs from Highway 61 Revisited, Desire, Slow Train Coming and beyond.

The Lineup:
Rachit Lakhmani – Rhythm guitar, harmonica, and lead vocals.
Rajshekhar Banerjee – Keyboards, second vocals

This one is for Dylan. The whole evening of it.

On the 24th of May, at half past seven, The Bar, Broadway Hotel sets aside the night entirely for the man who earned it. Three acts — 1972, Rahul Guha Roy, and Folklore — each bringing their own reckoning with Dylan's work to a room that has spent the entire month in his company. This is not a cover night. This is a conversation with eighty-five years of songs that refused to stay quiet, played by musicians who understand exactly why they still matter.
No dress code. No hierarchy. Just every walk of life in the same room, listening the way Dylan always insisted upon.

Come ready to stay the whole evening.

We came together… and how!

On Lennon’s 85th, the spirit of The Beatles filled every corner of Skinny Mo’s. 1972 took the stage and what followed was pure rock ‘n’ roll magic - harmonies soaring, guitars singing, and a crowd that knew every word by heart.

There’s something about these songs… they don’t just play, they connect. You could feel it in the way everyone sang along, the way the room swayed as one. For a night, the decades disappeared, and we were all part of the same story - the one The Beatles started, and 1972 carried forward.

Here’s to the music that keeps us together, to nights that end in cheers and laughter, and to the timeless songs that never stop meaning something. 💫
